*Official* CW XI in South Africa

Robertinho

Cricketer Of The Year
Nah, Lara continued his gradual decline, and I believe he's now battling away in Sydney's grade competition. Still holding down #3 for WI though.

Ouch. :D

And the number one batting spot in the ICC Player Rankings. Some 6 spots higher than Ponting. Thankfully, there's no bad blood between the two despite the gap in class.

Stop it.

Lara is all class .... but even his godlike batting abilities have nothing on Ponting .... Ponting > every WI'ian batsmen put together .... 0oo0o0o0.

That statement was out of control.

Bravo holds the number 3 spot btw. The tabloids say Ponting gets lonely down at 7 tbh.

Haha, quite the convo this.
Rumour has it that Bravo was quoted in saying that the CW Black "back up captain" is a complete joke.... Quite odd, really.

I guess Bravo isn't such a complete waste of space after all :( :( Regardless of his fan base back in his native town.

No, but Ponting has.
Come on..... that's a joke.

The great man has improved his test average from 45 to like 58 in the seasons from 03 until 07. ..... his rapid improvement from 07 until 13' increased his average in tests from just under 60 to an amazing 95.

Not even Lara .... 0o0oo00oo0 flat wicket bully ..... matched it.

Rumour has it that Kearsley managed an average of 17 during this period and was the most technically gifted CW batsmen.

Last thing I needed to hear, Liam, after all of the insecure debacles currently going on.

I formally quit CW blue and CW cricket.

Har har, as if you could get rid of me from blue so easily.... Pshhh.

Watt and Wilson to get Test caps

Dave Watt is set to make his Test match debut in the first Test against South Africa. The CW cricket veteran makes the jump from a successful first-class career to the Test arena. He is one of three changes from the team that played the last Test against Pakistan, with David Kearsley making way for the return of Chris Butler.

Kearsley can count himself unlucky, having scored 120 in his last Test. He played solid innings of 53 and 33 not out in his two opportunities on tour thus far. However, Butler returns to the Test limelight after injury kept him out of international cricket for all of last season. He scored a century in the 3-day fixture against Free State and looks to build on 1286 Test runs and an average of 36.74.

Also missing out is Liam Camps jr. The allrounder's international batting form has been overlooked due to his dismal bowling form, and Mike Wilson will debut in his place. Wilson bowled economically in the game against Free State, but failed to take a wicket. Camps is yet to feature on the tour.

Cricket Web XI 1st Test squad:
BJ Goff (c), NS Pickup (vc), H Moerk (wk), T Mamesh, RJ Dauth, CR Butler, MW Wilson, DM Kennett, GM Thomas, DJ Watt, AP Cloete.
