Match Summary:

Game 2 : Central Districts vs Cricketweb XI played at Basin Reserve, Wellington..

CD who are one of the top teams in nz domestic cricket lost the toss and were put into bat by captain blewy..
CD got off to a bad start losing opener J.How for 9 from a good slow ball by David Jr and an even better forward diving catch by Mr Wright at midon..
But after that the CD attack began.. Opener P Ingram scored 109 , number 3 batsmen C Spearman 86 and young upcoming batsmen J Ryder scoring 147, notable contribution from Upcoming rookie R Taylor 52 saw CD reach a mammoth total of 487
the cwxi attack lacked the consistency to take wickets at regulkar intervals.. although MB did well and maintained composure taking 4 for 101 of 25

CwXI scored 195 in their 1st innings highest score eyes only - 40

made to follow on CwXI then went onto to score 370 with mainly useful runs from the middle orders but no one hanging around to make a big score..

needin 82 to win cd did it with a loss of 1 wicket..


Coaches Comments :

We should be quite well settled in team wise.. i suggest the experienced players in this team give the others a help with their techniques etc to polish their gameplay, because we need to keep learning and get better to give nz a good a fight in the test series..
There will be a lot more training individual sessions and if anyone wants individual sessions apart from sheduled trainings is welcome ofcourse.
Lets work harder to win the last of the warmup match against Canterbury!

The CWBCC will be flying in Lucky Eddie, Ian Botham, Courtney Walsh and Ajit Agarkar to run an emergency bowling workshop in attempt to address the clearly urgent situation before the Test series.

All players are asked to report back to Basin Reserve at 5 am tomorrow morning.

I didn't have bad game really, taking 4 for 101, my bowling is going along quite well, just need that support from the other end.

I hope to get valued bowling tips from Eddie, Beefy, Courtney and Ajit.

Can only get better from here guys!

not happy with my performance but at the same time 28 when the highest was 40 and 58 was an ok game with a wicket.

Game 3 : canterbury vs cwxi

Another shocking result..

Canterbury won the toss and elected to bat on a good looking surface that would help batsmen and bowlers based on shot selections..

Canterbury went into bat confidently scoring a mammoth 653/6 in the first innings.. and canterbury is well known for cashin in high scores in this years state championships because of the talent their team boasts..
CWXI bowlers toiled hard all day in the new zealand heat..
2-140 of 31 overs from neil and 2-109 of 21 from mr wright being our best of bowlers..

In reply CWXI went out starting well with a huge total to chase.. Congrats to Eyes only for her well hit 92.. she has been progressing well and seems to get used to new zealand pitch conditions.. also notable contribution from captain blewy 65 not out.. to help cwxi get a total of 307.. Made to follow on cwxi then scored 225..its not the pitch to blame but most of the cwxi were caught playing rash strokes and cross bat shots instead of settling down and lookin to make a big score


Coachs Comments: Shockin result.. i hope we drastically improve and work on our weaknesses before the tests approach.. also many of our players were caught playing early and cross bat shots.. on new zealand pitches we cant afford to do that were there is prominent swing and seam movement.. playing late and watching the ball and playing straight is the key.. leave what has to be left.. and bat with confidence..
