Yikes. Quite a few positives though, and considering that wasn`t our best outfit, I wouldn`t bee too worried. As long as Wilson is performing, we can`t lose. :baby:

Webheads Take Commanding 2-0 Lead
2nd "Test" at the Kensington Oval, Barbados

Day One
Daren Ganga won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Kensington Oval, as Cricket Web 'A' reached 258/7 at stumps, on a day of even fortunes. Alex Blackman's top order half-century was the centre-piece, after Thamba Mamesh started brilliantly before perishing to the hook stroke.

Dinu DeSilva played well for his 40, and Bryce Cunningham shone with a quick 37, but it was Sean Fuller's unbeaten 42 which really held the innings together after Blackman's demise.

Day Two
Tino Best lit up the early session of play, as the West Indies 'A' dismissed Cricket Web 'A' for 291, from their overnight 258/7. Best finished with 5 wickets, continuing his fantastic run in the series. Sean Fuller was unbeaten 55, facing 187 balls in a true captain's knock.

With the pitch still in excellent shape, the West Indies openers took guard. None of the top order looked truly settled, amidst typically overcast conditions, and Narsingh Deonarine's 62 was the only significant innings. The Cricket Web bowlers operated with discipline and heart to bowl out their hosts for just 211. Cunningham and Fuller shared 6 wickets in a good team effort.

Day Three
Having secured a first innings lead of 80 runs the previous day, the Webheads batted themselves to a healthier lead of 369 at stumps. Alex Blackman was again in good form, but it was Andrew Garven's superb attacking 74 which stole the day's play. Garven took his guard at the foot of a collapse of 2 wickets for no runs, with the score at 116/4. A failure in the first innings added to the pressure, but the veteran elected for a counterattacking style, and quickly rediscovered his form.

He was finally caught at longon off the bowling of Deonarine, but had revived the innings sufficiently to put the tourists back into the driver's seat. Cunningham and Lezama later strengthened the position further with a partnership of 42 at stumps.

Day Four
Despite interruptions from the weather and an early breakthrough for Best, Cricket Web enjoyed the best fortunes of the day, ending in firm control. After their lower order rallied to take the total to 339 all out, Cunningham and Wilson took a wicket apiece to leave West Indies 'A' at 79/2 at stumps, still needing 341 for victory.

Xavier Marshall promised runs with his 32, but was caught down the legside off a Wilson short ball. He had earlier lost partner Devon Smith to an ill-advised attempt at a cut shot. Rain and bad light combined late in the day, robbing 14 overs and forcing an early close.

Day Five
Ganga continued from his overnight 21 to post an innings top score of 62, and West Indies 'A' looked to be competing nicely in progressing through the first session with the loss of just 1 wicket. They resumed after lunch on 178/3, but lost wickets steadily in the afternoon session, before Weber ran through the tail.

Indeed, following Ganga's dismissal in the second over of the session, only Baugh impacted, scoring a spirited 53. He was last out, caught at fly slip off a Mike Wilson short ball.

:D Another big win.

It obviously wasn`t the easiest batting pitch, the highest score being 74, but it was good to see everyone making starts. All the batters were impressive, and the all-rounders chipped in. Chosen boy Mike has made it difficult for us to drop him. :p

Great work by the bowlers, great to see we can bowl out sides without the openers contributing. Bit of a worry for the Blue boys, but we`ll get it right. Don continues to impress as `keeper. Great effort by all, we really look a solid team.

Really good win. Blackman and Garven were excellent with the bat, and Cunningham did a really good job with the ball in the first innings when we weren't looking like taking a lead. Weber did very well to destroy the lower order on an unhelpful surface as well.

Great win there guys, the extra all rounder in Wilson seemed to work really well. The extra depth in batting and bowling looked like it was the difference.

Lezama and Rose save it this time
...as Webheads falter again
Cricket Web 'A' vs Jamaica XI
at Sabina Park

For the second consecutive warmup match, Cricket Web 'A' entered the final day in a precarious position, requiring a brave effort from Anthony Lezama and Xavier Rose to save pride. Rose batted well for 32 amidst a partnership of 64 for the 9th wicket with Lezama. The two were assisted by sloppy fielding and rain in terms of the end result, but the effort was still impressive.

After electing to bat first in the match, Cricket Web met some persistent bowling from the Jamaicans, and recovered from 28/3 to 142/3, only to collapse for 193 all out. Bryce Cunningham was the standout batsman in the innings, forging an entertaining 114-run partnership with captain Fuller.

In response Jamaica slipped to 70/4, but aggressive play from Carlton Baugh jr. combined with good innings from Dave Bernard jr. and Gareth Breese, as the home team scored 275 all out - a lead of 82. Batting from behind, the Webheads didn't improve much on their first innings showing, and slumped to 135/8 in the final session.

The tailend recovery ultimately set a target of 119 runs off 19 overs for Jamaica, presenting a potentially thrilling finale. Alas, rain intervened to take the game out of the reach of either party, as Jamaica closed at 34/1 off 10 overs.

Cricket Web 'A' 1st Innings 193 all out
Jamaica XI 1st Innings 275 all out
Cricket Web 'A' 2nd Innings 202 all out
Jamaica XI 2nd Innings 34 for 1
Match Drawn.

I don't think it is a good idea playing me as a specialist batsman in the top 6. IMO we should play an extra batsman in the next test.

Our batting is continuing to struggle in the tour games. Hopefully it'll come good for the final test and we can manage a whitewash.

It was a good effort to avoid losing this one, at least.
