don't think they've been between to full international sides before
There is this.

Which also includes that "The ICC ruled that warmup matches played prior to the 1992 World Cup were not full one-day internationals."

pretty happy with my form in these games, 116* my highest list A score, pity it was scored so slowly we lost the match...

I'm not sure that warmup matches between two international sides as World Cup warm-ups are even classed as List A.

Here we go... the yellow book comes in handy:

Wisden 2006 said:
List A is a concept, introduced by the Association of Cricket Statisticians and Historians, intended to provide an approximate equivalent in one-day cricket of first-class status. List A games comprise:

(a) One-day internationals.
(b) Other international matches (e.g. A-team internationals).
(c) Premier domestic one-day tournaments in Test-playing countries.
(d) Official tourist matches against the main first-class teams (e.g. counties, states, provinces and national Board XIs).

The following matches are excluded:

(a) Matches originally scheduled as less than 40 overs per side (e.g. Twenty20 games).
(b) World Cup warm-up games.
(c) Tourist matches against teams outside the major domestic competitions (e.g. universities).
(d) Festival games and pre-season friendlies.

Hm.

Warm-ups have never been ODIs before, though.
They've never been list-A either, but the ICC relented for this.

It's like the England v Ireland game. That was essentially a warmup game (for the SL series), but was a full international.

By the year 2013, the ICC has decided to allow WC warmups list-A status. That's what I heard...

As far as I see, the only point of contention with respect to some of these games being ODIs is whether or not Andy has debuted. I don't think it matters much either, all things considered.

Pakistan failed to impress on a shocking wicket at Hobart, and Cricket Web Red capitalized with a hard-fought 4-wicket win. Tharmi Loganathan and Alex Feeney were superb in the early going, restricting the Pakistani strokeplay and sharing 5 wickets as well. Rich Edmunds chipped in with 3 of his own, following up from some excellent bowling by his new ball partner, Nick Borcich. Pakistan could manage just 185 all out.

Setting out to attack the meagre total, Mørk and Dobson perished early to Mohammad Asif. However, it would prove no shame, as the Pakistani seamer warmed up for the World Cup with a brilliant 5-wicket performance. The Reds did enough in between his bursts, though. James Stedman and Alex Feeney notched good half-centuries and laid the platform for a good win.

Cricket Web Red 188 for 6 (42.1 overs) beat
Pakistan 185 all out (50 overs) by 4 wickets
Man of the Match: Alex Feeney
Nice way to finish off my first class career, probably one of my best games with the ball, if not my best on One Dayers. Nice to see Stedman and Feeney scoring some runs against a International. Hopefully one if not both of them are going that for CWXI soon.

Really enjoyed that win. Towns was superb, and some good contributions by Dauth, Chaulk and somehow Nady. :D Great work on your debut! Pickup was on song with the ball and the rest of us kept it tight.

Another good grinding win... We certainly know how to fight hard when we are up against it...

Personally my form has been very ordinary.. I think im in my worst period in ODI cricket ever...

But yet again, it came to the crunch and we had enough to win - getting good momentum going here.

Been away for a couple of days so this thread is a joy to come back to.

Great effort Green. Looking like a top quality International team.
Cannot wait for next season, but Im looking forward to watching CWXI lift the WC in the meantime.

World Cup opens with intriguing results

Group A - Australia vs Bermuda
at Sydney

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

A commanding hundred from Adam Gilchrist was not enough for Australia to state dominance, despite a margin of 104 in victory over Bermuda. Gilchrist smashed 10 fours and 2 sixes in his 120, yet Australia failed to reach the 300 mark, instead settling for 280-5.

Bermuda was never likely to give the total much of a challenge, and although scoring was slow and difficult against the Australian bowling, penetration was notably absent. The Australian bowlers lacked bite and killer instinct, and Bermuda capitalized to bat through their 50 overs for the loss of just 5 wickets.

That Brett Lee remained wicketless in his 10-over spell was a critical sign.

Australia 280-5 (50 overs) beat
Bermuda 176-5 (50 overs) by 104 runs
Man of the Match: Adam Gilchrist

Group C - South Africa vs Ireland
at Auckland

Scorecard
Ball by Ball

Herschelle Gibbs injected life into the South Africa team, as he and Boeta Dippenaar took charge of a run chase against Ireland after an ordinary day in the field. Gibbs was in sensational form, and lofted, drove and pulled the ball with sublime touch. He raced to 50 off 42 balls, then pushed on further for 38 off his next 18.

At the other end, Dippenaar got to 50 from 52 balls, but by the time he was run out stunningly for 99, he had added a further 49 runs in facing only 35 balls. Kallis chimed in with two sweetly struck boundaries in an unbeaten 10, and South Africa cruised to victory with the better part of 17 overs to spare.

Earlier it was a different story, however, as the South African seamers struggled to impact against an impressive showing by the Irish. Makhaya Ntini finished with 4 wickets, but it was the spin duo of Nicky Boje and Graeme Smith who restricted the scoring and kept the tempo of the innings in reasonable check. A total of 235 was much more than the South Africans anticipated chasing, but a spirited effort successfully and finally stirred the team to life at this World Cup.

South Africa 238-2 (33.2 overs) beat
Ireland 235-8 (50 overs) by 8 wickets
Man of the Match: Herschelle Gibbs
