50/4 got Vince the big wicket. I like this no toss lark.

Forgot to do it for today but have just set up my Telegraph fantasy cricket team so will kick in for the next round of matches:

Chris Rogers
Paul Collingwood
Nick Browne
Jon Trott
Ben Browne (wk)
Chris Woakes (c)
Jesse Ryder
Matt Coles
Rory Kleinveldt
Craig Overton
Jamie Porter

Tried to pack side with all rounders/people who contribute with both bat/ball. Is for CC and Royal London Cup but will make changes for the blocks of the later.
Cove not playing I'm afraid.

i've got 8 teams in, it's a pastime. Stone being out the only annoyance so far, bloody delayed toss.

Yeah I may move him out, but as I said not getting points for this week so no big issue.

I am tipping Jamie Porter to have another good year, think he suits Chelmsford a lot.

59/6 and Barker with a five for before lunch on Day 1 of season. Lovely job!

That one mate of Marcuss' (also a noted cricsim member) opening the batting for Northants, didn't see that one coming.

Steve Magoffin having a bad time on his first morning in division 2 where you'd expect him to tear up

you'll get points for each day, so if you were late this morning it will start on the second day.

Cove is a bit of a fascinating one, his bro being out was big news on the Somerset web-site, but he just was quietly not in the squad, I had him in a few teams.

Oh and what is the point of Worcestershire, one of the two sunny days that'll have all year, inspection 3 pm natch.

It is a big year for Ben Duckett, has he always opened the batting in CC?
Promoted to open mid season last year and then went and scored 4 or 5 tons.

Been struggling to think who he reminds of for a while but I think I know now. Reminds me of Phil Hughes.Small bloke, unorthodox and not pretty to watch but mighty effective. Lots of carves and jabs and always looking for runs. Kinda bloke who you'd think would be a terrible opener but has found a way of scoring runs. Nightmare for bowlers to bowl at.

Yeah, the classic 'nuggety' batsmen although I think he has more power than Hughes did.

A season of runs for him and the perennial failures of the opener next to Cook could be interesting.

Wheater out and into Hampshire's long tail. James Tomlinson a genuine 11 coming in at 9.

EDIT -

Reece Topley has come in, which speaks volumes.

How does a guy averaging less than 3 bat 9? My nan could do a better job than him.

Because Fidel Edwards is in the side. Surprised he came in ahead of Tomlinson though i have to say. Perhaps they fancy Topley as being able to stick around with Mclaren.

Is Woodster going to post, thread not the same without him.

Blimey Surrey we know you've done nothing good for cricket since Ken Barrington, but letting Mullaney become the first centurion of the Championship season is low even for you.

Oh, Gregory for England BTW.

McLaren with a vital knock here, although I have to say Topley being able to survive in relative comfort doesn't trouble me unduly given our batting line up.

Duckett with a ton, well done lad. Average closing in on 40.

Frustrating last two partnerships stalling us, really hope we can knock them over for under 200. This is annoying though.

Wonder if we'll even get to half of Durham's score, sigh relegation season this I reckon.

Well not much has changed with our batting then but at least a decent recovery. Very early days but the likes of Wheater and Smith need to do a lot more or I would be hoping to see some of the young players.
