**Official** County Cricket 2016

I've got no idea who ends up at 2 and 3 eventually - I've given up predicting. The good thing is that at least there are a lot of youngish players batting in the top 3 for their counties which I don't think has always been the case in recent times.

ECB should sells off the rights for a 'Who wants to be an England test opener' reality program. 4 weeks living at Loughborough. A series of cricketing, fitness and personality tests. The public decides.

The Lucky 13 - Abell, Hameed, Borthwick, Stoneman, Lees, Lyth, Gubbins, Robson, Burns, Ansari, Browne, Bell Drummond, Duckett.

I would rather see Reece than Brown opening the batting. 22.72 after 77 games is downright poor.

Browns record started slow, but he showed a bit more aptitude opening in the shorter form. He's improved in first class over the last year or two, whereas Reece seems to have slipped back a bit. Also Brown is a more attacking batsman than Reece - If we partnered the latter with Hameed we'd barely get a batting point.

Looking at Brown's first over this morning it looks like Lancashire think they can win this - fear 'twill end badly

The lack of acceleration last evening is really annoying. 340-350 makes it that bit harder but it is still just as tempting to a batting side. Would be nice if they could stop the plodders look like world beaters and use the cloud cover properly.

The forecast was for rain all day when I looked and they aren't playing at Headingly so I wonder how much play they will get in. Going at 9.2 an over at the moment with Brown 37 off 20 seems a bit ridiculous given the first innings.

Colly still has no 3rd man in... guess them to get there with a session to spare.

Grey and cloudy. Not really rainy cloud though, just the sort that might annoy you with drizzle once in a while.

Brown gone.

We've gone three games without a startling collapse to be seen - can't see us making it four tbh - suspect it will be over just after lunch if there's no rain

Weather looks like ruining another set of games that were heading for a interesting conclusion.

I looked last night at the Nottingham forecast didn't look to bad. Hope we can get 40-50 overs in and try to force a result.

Durham spraying the ball all over the place, not great when Collingwood keeps leaving fine leg and third man vacant.

Good to see Bairstow and Root finding form for the test series. We know Cook is in good nick so at least we have some players in the runs.

Also nice that Anderson picked a few up yesterday. Lancashire made a good start to the season.
cook always plunders runs in county cricket, even when he looks like he's batting with a stick of rhubarb in tests.

So err yea, bookies you had Lancashire as favourites chasing 325?

Durham haven't really bowled that well, but have kept picking up wickets.
