Frankly speaking when its clear that the dice is loaded in the favor of the team which wins the toss and bats first in D/N game at RPS, so therefore why can't they just play day games instead, its pretty annoying to see D/N games at this venue being pretty much decided by the toss, and during times when ODIs are struggling for survival, series like this and the one being currently played in England aren't really great advertisements for the format.

Think ODI cricket is a format too far for Yusuf Pathan. Laughably inept against the short ball.
As UC pointed out, Pathan is almost a game-braking player for India down at no.7, obviously he can't be seen as a reliable player, but still he adds a lot of value to the Indian side with his power hitting and canny offies.

The point you make about him being ****e against the short ball is true, but he is pretty unlikely to play on many bouncy and pacy tracks in modern day limited overs cricket, so that shouldn't be much of a problem, AFIAC

Don't forget the previous two series that India played in Sri Lanka, in which India won 5 games batting first under lights.

On a positive note, Sri Lanka managed to pass 200 on every game and racked up 260 odd in one of them.

Lanka gets past 300. This may be a match-winning total, as the Lankans will keep pegging at the Indian batting, as their bowling doesn't have a soft spot- maybe Matthews.

It will be only a matter of time till sides switch. Who should open the batting for India? Karthik may be a liability at the top, since he's a slow scorer and struggling to put up something decent. They may have to take a risk and send in Yuvraj to open; that's two of your top three opening, followed by Dravid and Dhoni. Should be obvious.
Good post with a bad word!

Similar pitch to Sunday so 200 should be enough.
Yup, as I said the D/N games here are farcical to say the very least, should have just given the trophy to MSD as soon he won the toss, but anyways good to see SRT in such sublime touch.

MS Dhoni is incredibly good at rotating the strike. Should bring the field up IMO, he's going to get a run a ball anyway.

Did you finally remember to put a bet on this time? :p
Haha yeah. It won't win back my winnings from New Zealand's direfest on Saturday but it'll help :p

I'm keeping track of my cricketing bets on a blog these days. It always feels like I'm winning a lot more than I'm losing but I have a feeling that's not really the case.

Dhoni is on 17 off 20. He's scored off each of the previous 15 deliveries he's faced. The Indian run-rate from the past five overs is 6.00, but they have not hit a single boundary.

These guys have middle-overs ODI batting down to a tee.
