Im more worried about tolerating kayes for another match than missing tamim. Reaching boiling point
Dane Paterson is the only new cap in the Standard Bank Proteas ODI squad for the Momentum ODI Series against Bangladesh to be played later this month.
Morne Morkel could not be considered because of injury.
“Dane did very well in the T20 International Series against England earlier this year, particularly when it came to death bowling,” commented Cricket South Africa (CSA) National Selection Panel Convener Linda Zondi. “We now want to see if he can do a similar job in the 50 overs format.
“Faf du Plessis will lead the Proteas now that he has taken over the captaincy from AB de Villiers in the ODI format. This is the start of our campaign to begin preparing our squad for the 2019 ICC World Cup,” Zondi concluded.
Standard Bank ODI squad: Faf du Plessis (Multiply Titans, capt), Hashim Amla (WSB Cape Cobras), Temba Bavuma (WSB Cape Cobras), Farhaan Behardien (Multiply Titans), Quinton de Kock (Multiply Titans), AB de Villiers (Multiply Titans), JP Duminy (WSB Cape Cobras), Imran Tahir (Hollywoodbets Dolphins), David Miller (VKB Knights), Wayne Parnell (WSB Cape Cobras), Dane Paterson (WSB Cape Cobras), Andile Phehlukwayo (Hollywoodbets Dolphins), Dwaine Pretorius (bizhub Highveld Lions), Kagiso Rabada (bizhub Highveld Lions)
I dont see Faf with a hosepipe ...The pitch this morning.
Bangladesh squad
Mashrafe Mortaza (capt), Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Imrul Kayes, Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Sabbir Rahman, Nasir Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Rubel Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin
They seem to do this a lot lately... letting young prospects hang around the proteas camp, and/or picking them in the LO squads. I wonder if it is to give exposure to senior players that are not available at FC like they used to be.I see Leus du Plooy is with the Proteas. CSA certainly seem to like him.
It's a difficult one for Mushfiqur though, he's got a batting line-up that he clearly has little confidence in in these conditions that are fresh on the back of a complete collapse in their last innings and obviously they got flayed in the first innings of the opening Test when he inserted SA. Was probably just hoping to lose the toss.As if they bowled first again. AS IF.
**** me dead.
I think this is very much the case.Bangers should have bat first people reckon.

End of an era..... but hopefully we get a last swansong over the next 2 years. It was the first time since 2007 that South Africa were playing a Test without one of Dale Steyn, Vernon Philander or Morkel.
It pretty shocking leadership to be so scared of collapsing in the first innings that you'd rather bowl first (thus making victory harder to achieve) simply to avoid the risk of humiliation. It's a difficult one for Mushfiqur though, he's got a batting line-up that he clearly has little confidence in in these conditions that are fresh on the back of a complete collapse in their last innings and obviously they got flayed in the first innings of the opening Test when he inserted SA. FC hundreds behind his name. He probably should.Interesting to see if Parnell bats before or after Phehlukwayo.....
I see you guys have an 'A' squad playing Ireland 'A' - Nazmul Shanto to captain. Pretty sure he was in the test squad in NZL. You rate him ?It pretty shocking leadership to be so scared of collapsing in the first innings that you'd rather bowl first (thus making victory harder to achieve) simply to avoid the risk of humiliation.
Then they went and capitulated in the 4th innings anyways.
So bad
Yeah I'd feel hard down by if I was Parnell and they batted Andile above me.FC hundreds behind his name. He probably should.
