*Official* Bangladesh in Pakistan Thread

I suppose there's not much hope of a good 2nd innings by Bangla, as they always seem to collapse. At least Saleh and Kapali has been in for 10 overs - maybe they can put on the century stand Bangladesh has managed in every innings so far in the series.

They are in a very good position, useful first innings lead and Pakistan won't fancy chasing much over 220...

As for Rafique, he's tidy, but I'm not sure how threatening he is. He seems to bowl very flat.
Does that really matter since he's taking wickets and being very economical?

Flat bowling does work.

all out for 96...Bangladesh just can't seem to put 2 & 2 together.

Thats twice now in both tests that they've blown good advantages over Pakistan.

Bangladesh have completed the first human cloning today, when they made 6 copies of habibul bashar and 5 of mashrafe mortaza. it was a controversial plan and they had to weave through years of ICC regulations to pull this off. All other players have disappeared.

On a lighter note, Khaled Mahmud was also cloned, a mere 500 times. All of the khaleds will be at the cricket; carrying the water.

They never had a good advantage in the 1st Test at all. They were always behind in the game, and although they ripped out the tail in the 1st innings, Pakistan were still in front by the time they did it!

Nonsense. Devil Ducky brought you the news several months ago where India were continually trying to clone Sachin Tendulkar.

Mahmud isn't as bad as people make him out to be. He's not very effective in Tests, but I think he's quite a useful bowler at times in ODI's, with his change of pace.

I'm serious.

Look at his WC stats:

36.5 overs : 6 wickets @ 24.16 : 3.93 econ : 36.8

Those are pretty decent figures. I saw him bowl and he looked a thinking bowler. His change of pace and length was very effective and thoughtful.

I'm not calling him a great bowler, or even good. I said he's a "useful" bowler.

sorry, i missed that. i was more interested at how each paragraph went a little bit futher across the page than the last one, the end result being a weird shaped triangle.:D

If anyone doubts that progress is being made, surely you just have to look at the fact that in their most recent match, Bangladesh achieved:

- First test hat-trick
- Highest partnership for any wicket
- Two 100+ run partnerships for the first time
- First ever first innings lead

I haven't seen any coverage of this series...but i'd like to know how much effort Pakistan are putting into this series.

They seem to always relax & show little respect to weaker opposition and thats why they are so hot & cold.

Well, Inzamam was in the team ;) Otherwise, I think Pakistan wanted a series win at home - first since '98 - and that Bangla might just win the third game on bloody-mindedness...if Kapali and Rafique can make more good bowling spells, which is what Bangladesh need right now.

Do you ever give anyone any credit?

To suggest a load of players on their first Test appearances aren't putting in any effort is harsh at the least.

Maybe, just maybe, Bangladesh are improving?
