*Official* Bangladesh in New Zealand 2016/2017

Not Terrible
Yes they are. NZ has literally never had a spinner who was expected to take a ton of wickets, so i's a bit unfair to criticise Mitchell Santner for failing to do so.
Santner > NcCullum.

In fact what spinner outside Vettori has been better in the last 10 years?

Arguably Williamson..

Williamson continues to have the best record in all formats of any NZ spinner (except Patel in Warickshire)

Probably back when he was chucking it down. This is the first time that I can remember him looking as good since his action was fixed.

Oh I see now, Vettori was a wicket taking demon and not just an economic bowler who chipped in with wickets from time to time...
Tests 113 187 28814 12441 362 7/87 12/149 34.36 2.59 79.5 19 20 3
ODIs 295 277 14060 9674 305 5/7 5/7 31.71 4.12 46.0 8 2 0

Santner has a better strike rate of balls to wickets than Vettori does across all formats... and again, is only 24, without the back problems that stopped Vettori being as good as he could've been.

Yeah, but he turns the ball about as much as Vettori did post-back injury. Which could mean he ends up an effective limited overs bowler, but might not be as effective in tests.

His batting isn't in the same ball park as Vettori, yet.

Wasn't Shane Bond the first to bowl the slower ball bouncer? I remember him brining it out at one of the early World 20-20 comps.

He'll come right with the bat, but it's a tough ask expecting anyone to bat as well as Vettori did, Vettori averaged over 40 for a number of seasons, was highly effective when he was at his peak. Bowling wise, he's got a couple of flaws to work out to put more rotation on the ball, but again, he's a young spin bowler, very few spinners are good in their early twenties, especially those outside of the sub continent, they just don't get the meaningful overs here until higher level cricket.
