9:33am: Round four of the Sheffield Shield has been abandoned following Phil Hughes' injury at the SCG, Cricket Australia announced on Wednesday.do we think they'll abandon the rest of the games today? probably have to unless they plan on replaying this match in a few months. doubt there's gaps in the schedule though.
If you don't believe in his then leave that part out. Easy."thoughts & prayers..."
Yairsss. This vacuous & usually hypocritical Americanism has been getting more and more embedded in our culture of late. And when you think about it, it's stupid.
They believe in a God. They pray to this God so that X will get better. So who got X injured/sick in the first place? Bah!

Kind of the point I was looking to make, it's a sensitive one though because of the timing and incident but in my view purposefully bowling to intimidate is part of the game, you almost hope to hit, but not injure the player you're bowling at.It's interesting to see a couple of articles that are along the lines of "this is an overdue reminder of just how dangerous cricket can be". Hang on a sec, buds, there were two very good examples last summer, that luckily resulted in no harm. One was the Morgan/Lee thing, which was always inexcusable, particularly C9/CA's part in it. And yes, the other was the Gabba thing. I remember following the Brisbane match somebody within the England camp leaked word about their discussions with the umpires over whether that was intimidatory bowling. My feeling was that if that wasn't, what the hell would be? Clarke wasn't exactly speaking rhetorically, we were bowling at the body with short legs, leg gullies etc. He was a damn good chance of getting hit. Nobody cared really too much then about the serious dangers cricket features.
plz dont respond to this
Bowlers and captains... the example of Michael Clarke following up an over of Johnson bowling short stuff with "Get ready for a broken ****ing arm" for instance. I can't claim that I haven't offered similar sentiment in the heat of the moment before but it's poor form by a captain and something that is bound to be brought up in this instance. To be clear, I don't think we should ban the short ball or whatever crazy solution. But I do think people can be a bit thoughtless to the dangers involved when they promote a sustained chin music barrage, particularly to the bowlers. Helmets aren't everything
