Can't fault Haddin, he's been a top class batsman for several seasons now for NSW. Hartley or Ronchi or whoever are going to have to wait their turn when Gilchrist is gone.
Dunno, how old's Haddin now?? CA have said multiple times they want a YOUNG keeper. However 32 is considered young in today's Aussie team.

If Gilly doesn't retire in one form by two years time, then i would be very surprised if one of the young keepers doesn't get a run. You would think one of them would have jumped ahead of Haddin by then.

Just having a look at the scorecard in the game between NSW 2nds and QAS, pretty good game from Jarrad Burke, 153 & 70 and a couple wickets. Hopefully we see him the 1st XI pretty soon, looks like a good prospect. Also it looks like Steve O'Keefe got a bit of Cameron White, doesn't like giving him self a bowl when captaining, had a good game with the bat in the 1st innings with 92 not out.

Some good prospects for NSW comming through, hopefully Tom Cooper gets a run in the 2nds during the season.

Haddin is about 29/30 IIRC. If & When he takes over from Gilly, he potentially could have at least 4 years in the national side.

In that second XI game, does anyone know if Steve Smith is the Steve Smith who plays for Sutherland? He's 17/18 years old.

Le Loux did alright in that game!

It won't happen. Warne doesn't play Ford Ranger Cup games. Will have to wait for the Pura Cup.

Tasmania XI: Di Venuto, MJ, Paine, TD, Ponting, RT, Birt, TR, Bailey, GJ, Anderson, DJ, Marsh, DJ, Butterworth, LR, Geeves, B, Hilfenhaus, BW, Griffith, AR.

Rarest sight in Australian domestic cricket. Bevan is injured. Marsh is going to have to bowl ten with that line up unless Bailey bowls a few medium pacers to make up the difference.

Hodge looking quite impressive early. Klinger may need a few weeks in the 2's to regain his composure. Just never looked comfortable.

Tassie on top with 3/65 in the 16th over.

Klinger and Hussey out cheap and Hodge out for 30. Griffith with 2 wickets.

The allstar Pura Cup match has started in Perth.

Qld have won the toss and elected to bowl.

Langer out early, caught Hayden bowled Bichel.

Teams:

W.A. - Langer*, Rogers, Hussey, North, Martyn, Gilchrist, Hogg, Gillies, Magoffin, Dorey, Edmondson. Heal 12th man.

QLD - Hayden, Maher, Love, Watson, Symonds, Perren, Hopes, Hartley, Bichel, Doran, Johnson. Stevens 12th man.

Should be a cracker of the game.

Victoria bowled out for 200 after 49.3 overs. Cam White top scoring with 50 before being run out, Griffith got 3/ 45 while Hilfenaus and Geeves both got 2 wickets each. Should be an easy win for Tasmania here.

Hopefully Gilchrist can find a bit of form aswell as Langer, Hayden and Hussey all making decent scores. Will be good to see how Johnson and Watson get on when the surface is pretty flat whether or not they can still be effective.

Woeful performance by Victoria. Wasted another decent start. No solidarity in the middle order whatsoever. Very disappointing
