What hype?Clapo said:Poised for Henriques to live up to the Hype and produce a match winning performance no?
Fingers crossed for the draw.FaaipDeOiad said:Still 140 odd needed with 4 wickets in hand and tea not far off. Without Jaques or Haddin, I think NSW might play for the draw.
Given that he's only making his FC debut now, I'd say he's already recieved a fair amount of hype. I certainly can't remember any player being talked about so much before they were even representing their state. Obviously though, most cricket fans don't follow any levels lower than the Pura Cup, so many people won't know much about him yet.Mister Wright said:What hype?
The only hype he has been given is on this forum.
He's been given plenty of hype mate. Was talked about on the news a couple of times after his performances in the U/19 world cup, and the cricket show did a big story on him...so did channel nine new once too. Henriques is the most hyped player since Ponting I'd say. Coaches in Australia have declared him a star of the future...hope he does well in this innings.Mister Wright said:What hype?

Where's the hype coming from though? If I wasn't a member of this forum this would be the first time I'd have even seen his name.FaaipDeOiad said:Given that he's only making his FC debut now, I'd say he's already recieved a fair amount of hype. Rest assured if he has even an average debut season people will start talking about him a lot more, and referencing his U-19 achievements etc, much like with guys like Ponting.
Well, he's been given "rising star" segments on TV, and gets mentioned plenty on sites like cricinfo and other cricket media. I don't read much print cricket media, but I'm sure he's been mentioned there as well. Hell, when he's played for NSW in one dayers on TV before the commentators have gone on about him being a prodigy etc.Mister Wright said:Where's the hype coming from though? Guess I'm not as immersed in cricket media as I should be then.FaaipDeOiad said:Well, he's been given "rising star" segments on TV, and gets mentioned plenty on sites like cricinfo and other cricket media. Thank goodness.FaaipDeOiad said:They've gone off for light now, so it looks like a draw.
Yeah, he's been given plenty of wraps all right.FaaipDeOiad said:Well, he's been given "rising star" segments on TV, and gets mentioned plenty on sites like cricinfo and other cricket media. It was raining here about 5 minutes ago, though it seems to have cleared up a little now. Still, doubt there'll be enough play to get a result.Mister Wright said:Sydney radar
Looks heavy atm, but might not hang around. Although given there is only one session, probably not enough time to get a result in the match.
