I think a doctor should be appointed to make sure they are not bi-polar. Smash NSW into the ground, and then come against Victoria and play like they have NFI about cricket and what to do. Too bad Watson can't bowl ATM, although I'm not sure what difference it would of made today
Reckon Cutting may have made a difference. Unless he was injuried, a joke that he got dropped after looking like a first class cricketer for the first time in his career.

Since you seem to follow Grade Cricket, could you please let me know how Stuart Meaker is going?

Is the 806 scored by Victoria the highest in Australian Domestic Cricket?
Nah, fairly sure Victoria once racked up 1000 odd against NSW

Edit: Haha, that's what I get for opening the page and leaving it up for 10 minutes before replying.

Another century for Wade. Stuff Hartley, Manou or Paine, get Matt Wade into the Ashes squad. In all seriousness though, terrific finish to the season for the young keeper.

Some forgotten players have really turned there careers around in the last month of cricket this season. Wade, Hartley, Cleary, Cosgrove, Butterworth, Khawaja and more. Made the last month quite special to see some of the individual performances of these cricketers.

Great win for SA. Just got back from Adelaide Oval. Duval had a day to forget in the field. He dropped Cosgrove on 17, a fair dolly of Kezja's bowling which probably ended Tassie's chances of a win and he also conceded 3-4 boundaries where he got his feet tangled up as the crucial moment he was to pick up the ball. Wells dropped Cossie on around 60 too. Flick to midwicket just above head hieght and the ball got through the hands. Wasn't travelling at a fast speed either. So a nice 118 for Cosgrove, he got out when scores were tied (cricket justice for his average) and Manou a nice unbeaten knock to finish off the season. He too was given a life, dropped by Paine early on.

*Absolutely ridiculous was that when scores were tied and Tas got a wicket, the players got drinks sent out to them by the 12th man. Pointless and silly with no more than a minute left in the game and no realistic chance of tie.

I think you will find tactics were sent out from the dressing room.

25 wickets @ 24. Picking up consistent wickets, but hasn't taken many big bags.
I presume there are no reports of him bowling at near that mythed 95mph pace? I did read an interview in SPIN of him a few months back and he said he was bowling okay but probably not all that quickly.

Terrific innings report, sounds like a fantastic days cricket down at the Adelaide Oval.

Apart from the dropped catches, how was Cosgrove batting? See he hasn't really changed his approach of attempting to score the majority of his runs through boundaries. 76 runs out of 118 scored where hit to the rope. I really do hope he keeps his act together, he is a brilliant talent. Keeps his technique simple relies on a good eye to score his runs. Has copped alot of deserved criticism over the years, but a future still holds strong for him. The guy is only 24, has already played for Australia and also maintains a healthy domestic average. He really is on the verge of greater things, just needs to get himself sorted.

It is not uncommon for grade bowlers to bowl over 140km/h, so unless they are taking a lot of wickets and bowling at that pace you usually don't hear much about it. Though if someone was bowling 150km/h you would hear about it. I doubt he bowls that pace, but if he does it probably not for long in the spells, if no one mentions it.

EDIT: Just noticed Stuart Meaker is an Pom. Probably explains why I haven't heard much about him. Unless someone is a potential NSW cricketer no one really talks about the player. He was meant to be clocked at 95mph at ECB Speed Test. So he probably bowls that speed.

Chappell mentioned the same things on the sports show a few weeks ago. He is a bit lazy when it comes to turning the strike over for singles. The field settings and wicket certainly helped his cause. Tassie chasing the game went with the 2 slips and a couple gullys for a while, later reverting to 1 gully. This gave the batters good value for shots if they wanted to play big shots and attempt the 5 an over needed for victory. It worked on Ferguson, he nicked a ball just short of a good lenght with an expansive drive and later Harris on 82 suffered the same fate.

I think Cosgrove did alright when it came to singles, although maybe some of these were boundary shots that went to a fielder. They set the trap at one stage with two men out on the hook and he simply guided singles to square leg, although more true to form, backed away to one and slashed it through point. His Australian ambitions are dead and burried IMO, no withstanding a huge turnaround in physical preperation and attitude, then runs given alot of blokes around the country are producing. The good thing is that now things are moving beyond him. No longer can he feel the Redbacks need him as Klinger, Manou, Ferg, Harris have all taken strides and he must be aware the ship is about to sail with or without him.
