Who out of interest do you personally believe may be the next hidden talent within the Sydney grade comp? Even if statistics don't back him up, just word of mouth that a certain bowler has the required skills.

Maybe who is next in line for rookie contracts next year?

Nice to see Watto in the runs. :)

Funny how all three games went quite similarly today, early collapse and then recovery.
Yeah in Adelaide, though, it just shows how difficult batting really wasn't. There was a bit of cloud around at times but nothing too low, not for outrageous movement anyway. Probably was a little around, though. Tasmania will probably be happy with the momentum they got but when Duval is in the runs.......

SA definitely went into this game a pace bowler light and that showed with how they bowled the top 2 into the ground and their opening batsman bowled more overs than the two spinners. Can't believe they dropped Haberfield for CB considering how well he bowled against QLD. SA showed against QLD and WA they have the makings of a pretty menacing pace bowling line-up right now so what do they do? Break it up, of course. The selectors can't even say they didn't know the conditions would be as pace friendly as they were, it's been raining and cloudy all bloody week. Picking CB was just silly with O'Brien in the side. Can't help but feel they're going to pay for it when the two pace bowlers pull up sore tomorrow and the all-rounders have to do all the bowling.

Two spinners in these conditions was pretty silly. SA selectors are lucky the batting order picks itself these days but boy have they made some howlers with the bowlers in the last couple of weeks (having finally got it right!). Even if it came down to George and Haberfield, Haberfield has form at least. Why on Earth isn't he in the XI?!

Starc tbh.

Next rookie contract. Not sure haven't had a close look at the guys that made the Aussie U19/U18 side probably one of them, if they perform at that level. If not they will probably give someone who fairly young and had a decent season. If so would back a local Manly boy Andrew Lindsay, though he nothing more then first grade standard.

Yes some very strange selection policies shown by South Australia. It was only last week we where discussing that finally, SA had a pretty menacing and long term bowling line-up. Just doesn't make sense to go breaking it up, and then bring in a bowler and hardly give him a proper bowl.

Unless Cullen Bailey bowls a stack of over’s in the second innings, then the move was completely farcical. Both Haberfield and Bailey will be left in the dark about what their role is for South Australia, and both will feel insecure about their spots in the team.

Not too sure whether these selection policies really help George either. The guy has played a handful of games, looks a real prospect, and yet he is being made to shoulder the burden of being one of two paceman. Not an easy task, and if some serious injury where to occur then the selectors have some serious answering to do.

Nic Maddinson.

Nic Maddinson.
Believe Maddinson will pick up a rookie contract next season? Or just a player for the future?

He only just turned 17, doing very well to be playing at this level. Believe he was pretty solid at the U/19 champs. Just having a quick look at his record for this season, not fantastic. Plenty of starts, could easily have a break-out year next season if he converts better.

Is Aus domestic cricket that bat at the moment? How are Vics 3rd string bowlers making teams look so pathetic?

I can't believe Simpson got another duck for Queensland...

How much longer are the Qld selectors going to sponsor this guy for??

Maybe he'll bowl 4 overs?

I know it is amazing isn't it. His record is terrible.

Averages 20 with the bat and 68 with the ball in First Class Cricket.

His one day record is even worse averaging a pathetic 12 with the bat and a more respectable 31 with the ball.

I dont care how good a captain he is, you simply can not classify yourself as an all rounder and come up with these sort of numbers.

Has to go.

SA wrapped-up Tas fairly quickly this morning for 301, Cleary with 7-ferrrrrr. That's his contract for next year. haha

Solid start for SA too, 1/79.

Great stuff from Watto! Did it against a second string attack but still, small steps. I imagine it would have been very difficult batting conditions as well with the weather here.

It's not like the rest of the side scored any. Being a bit critical here imo.
