BARNES OUT
How frustrating is Hodge for his supporters, hey? You support the guy forever, quietly agreeing with the Melbourne media moaning that he never got enough chances although you never admit it because you don't want to be another whining Victorian and then he finally gets in and blows everything. This guy either has the worst timing imaginable or just can't handle the pressure and the crunch situations (ie score now or your career is over). Sigh.
Like a double ton in your 2nd or 3rd test? Shocker.

Feeling bad for Hodgey but TBH as Pasag said he just wasn't able to handle the pressure and perform when it really mattered, he might very well end up being a superb first-class cricketer who never managed to settle down in international cricket.
Holy **** what's up with Katich he is murdering the Queensland attack, he has hit nine 6's  and is heading towards a triple-ton !!

Its the cricket Gods. Hodge sounds so damn dumb when he talks, that the thought of him being interviewed again is so horrid that they've stolen any ability he used to have.

Always been my theory tbh.

Triple century for Katich and the first one in Shield cricket at the SCG since 29/30 when Bradman got one. Magnificent effort Kat, my hat is off to you.

Not too happy with the bowling figures of both Lee and Johnson, not only have they been terribly expensive but they haven't taken a wicket either, i would like to believe that the wicket is terribly flat otherwise this is pretty dire stuff from both Binga and Mitch.

AWTA. Why has someone like Michael Clarke been given 27 tests to average 42, when Hodge is given only 5 tests and averages 16 runs more per innings?
Age and the fact that they see Clarke as a future captain certainly have played a part. Clarke was also gunning it in ODI Cricket before he got his Test chance, and then was dropped when he did poorly. Hodge has now been given a run in ODI Cricket without any real success or promise at all.

And of course, Clarke plays for New South Wales.

I think the numbers of runs scored in the game would be enough evidence to say that the wicket is a batsmens paradise. That said, it's no excuse for Lee or Johnson, but i'd still back them to perform much better in fortnights time.

Well done Katich, i don't know how he did it :shocking: but he has somehow done it, well played Katman :clapping:

I know that age is a major factor in team selections, but surely at Test match level they should be picking the absolute best players regardless of age or hypothetical captaincy potential. At the moment, Hodge > Clarke imo.

Also, gun innings by Katich

Hodge has no form. Clarke bowls better, is younger and a better fielder too. I also think he is a better bat too.

Clarke is one of the certainties in the Test side.
