Phenomenal effort from the Australian quicks. Wicket is dead.
Lyon would need to do something tomorrow, as you can't risk having the quicks go flat-out for too long.
based on this performance aus should play an extra pacer- boland or lance morris in the indian series instead of agar. The quicks is where the aus strength is, the spin is very lame. Or Todd Murphy who is really our 2nd best spinner would be a better idea. Agar will not trouble indian batsman, and neither will Swepson. If agar is not troubling SAF batsman on a supposed spinning deck, he will return nothing against indian batters.

Shades of the great Glenn Mcgrath in the way Cummins operates- mcgrath used to generate movement off dead decks that was his bread and butter. Although mcgrath bowled to better batters than this rabble.

No rain tomorrow- getting 14 wickets isnt possible imho due to the lack of an extra pacer(s). Aus missing 2 pacers this game, they substitued Agar from Green(!) and replaced Starc with Renshaw a batter they did not need(!) poor selection..I hope the selectors learn their lesson of choosing Agar. Even Smith- would return better figs than Agar in this match.

Picking agar was so bizarre. He should do everyone a favour tonight and fang his head into something for a concussion sub

fully agree. only 7 overs. captain wasnt even confident in him. why was he picked?? there was no sheffield shield performance to back up a national selection. should've picked Lance Morris for Agar. All the hype about picking Morris..then they choose...Agar? They had the extra batter in Renshaw. SAF would've been bowled out by now surely.

Going in with an extra batsmen and only two seamers was bizarre and if we can't bowl them out twice it will be a significant factor.

We've spent the past decade fooling visiting teams into picking two spinners at Sydney but have fallen for the meme ourselves this time. Plus the forecast for the match was available prior to it and showed what has in fact happened.

I think losing nearly two days to rain is probably the only significant factor if they aren’t bowled out
