Just another dropped catch on his recordSome luck for Marnus at last
You're usually wrong tooFwiw I tend to think these are out
I mean in this case the soft signal seemed to have been basically ignoredDon't get why soft signal is still a thing with catches like those. Third umpire struggles to call it with tons of different angles and frame by frame footage to run over again and again. How can you expect an umpire on the field to make a call on that, it may as well be a blind 50/50, and it has a huge impact on the decision making process.
It's not in the IPL any more, amazingly the ICC haven't caught up.Don't get why soft signal is still a thing with catches like those. i think the more interesting question here is in park games where you’ve got less manicured outfields, plausibly you can have your fingers under it before it hits the turf but not before it hits grassi reckon that it bounced, but if they gave that one carey took in the last game which i also thought bounced i think that’s one and the same
front on it looks like he got there first, side on it looks like it bounced and in those situations i don’t think you should be deviating from the on field call
In park games you don't have three million replays to scrutinise though, that's where the confusion enters the picturei think the more interesting question here is in park games where you’ve got less manicured outfields, plausibly you can have your fingers under it before it hits the turf but not before it hits grass
"at last"? Marnus has had more than his share of luck throughout his career. Some luck for Marnus at last
Apparently the soft signal is now only used if there isn’t a clear cut vision of the catch. When there is they don’t refer to the soft signal.Don't get why soft signal is still a thing with catches like those.
