*Official* Australia vs Pakistan in England

Yeah, pretty much. Most others realise that there isn't a best side at the format.
I'd disagree with that, I think Pakistan are the best side in the format.

They're the one side who have consistently performed well in the format and who have been consistently good in the World Cups. The two other nations who I'd have completing the top 3, England and Australia, were utterly dire up until 6 months ago.

His T20 figures are actually pretty good IIRC, especially for Victoria. He was a frontline bowler for them.
Yeah, he's not a bad T20 bowler by any stretch. But he bowled a wicket maiden for the first over of the innings.
Wicket maidens are rare enough in T20, so a combination of the fact that it was the first over of the innings and bowler by somebody who's nothing more than a part timer for Australia is somewhat unusual.

Yeh, hadn't looked in a while and they're pretty much fantastic, tbh. Doesn't give many away and takes wickets. Can we pick him instead of Hauritz in the Test side and bat him at 7? Longest batting-line up in history with Haddin coming in at 8 too.

Why is this even a discussion? Look at the record, look at the balance in the Pakistan side, they are made for the 20 20 format and they have proven that with consistency in a format which was deemed to be the most inconsistent.

Its no big feat really, I don't think very highly of 2020 cricket, regardless, they have easily and clearly been the best side in the format.

but black warrior, even the australians arent any good as of now

consider the fact that the australian team no more has its bowlers which made it invincible

and i dont think shaun tait who cant bowl more than spell of 2 overs can do much in test cricket.even theiir genuine spinner is injured

so if pakistan take this well, they have every chance

but, the australians just can make about a comeback form any damn position, but with ponting in such a form and they themselves not able to find a successful opening pair once hayden and langer retired, they sure are into troubles

more over, themain motive with australians is that they wouldnt want to go into the ashes which is their most important test series for over the past 100 years or so with a defeat to someone like pakistan

so they sure will be upto the challenge and if under such circumstances also ,pakistan does something godd, it will be a great achievement

and i surely think pakis have got a chance, man this afridi is a good captain
As much as I would like to believe what you're saying..but its hard... 6 months ago, I watched the first two test matches between Pakistan and Australia and by the end of the second test match, I was not able to watch the rest of the series for obvious reasons..
0-3 in Tests
0-5 in ODIs

That Australian side is not all that different from this one..
You are under estimating Bollinger and Johnson....You dont need a McGrath to knock over Butt, Shahzaib, Mallik and Afridi..the only solid one is Umar who last time I saw is good at scored a 56 ball 50 and then throwing it away.

As a Pakistan fan who familiar with every match Pakistan plays, it is very difficult for me to have high hopes from the Test side especially against a side like Australia..

TBF, if any side is going to be consistent in the most inconsistent of formats, there's some inevitability that it would be Pakistan..

read somewhere that they were sledging Dougeh and he sledged them back and things escalated a bit after that point.
Haha Dougeh.. Doesn't deal at all well with sledging from crowds.

Or from opposition park cricketers, it should be said

Pakistan bowlers would have to bowl really really well to have a chance. If they had Younis and Yousuf, it'd be an even contest.

Pakistan already exceeded my expectations. Very hopeful that the batting line up can click because the bowling is looking pretty good.

Does rather ignore the fact they actually weren't much good in the last world cup. Won two games out of six. Only defeated Bangladesh and notorious tournament bottle jobs South Africa

2nd game had to be just about the only "live" international game in my living memory where Aus havent played their best team/order

maybe they are just british. but generally speaking, i agree with your sentiment. the pakistani folk in the US seem the opposite. educational level difference methinks?
No in the U.S. i think Pakistanis just don't want to mess with the law in any way or form.

WTF moment....a Test series is just about to start and Australia's preparation is 5x ODI's against England, 2x T20I's against Pakistan and a 2 day match that plays 12 players and 100 overs per innings maximum....good luck Australia.....

Tbf, they are playing Pakistan. Considering their record against them going back several years, I don't think they're shaking in their boots.
