*Official* Australia vs Pakistan in England

Whatever it takes!!!
You gotta give a decent permanent slot for Umar Akmal. I would say make him #4 for all formats.. He is too good to be goofing around at 6.. :(

Fans pelt Aussies after Pakistan win | Herald Sun

Britian bred Pakistanis are one the most uncivilized people I have across and I have spend a lot of time in rough neighborhood of Karachi. This incident just confirms it.
My personal experience totally disagrees with this. You shouldn't tar a massive group of people with the same brush just because of some idiots watching a sports match. Completely out of order.

Never enjoy a headline regarding crowds throwing objects.

An issue that is not specific to a single country or race. I still remember Mark Ealham copping some golf balls at the MCG in 1998. Generally just afew idiots who spoil things.

yeah my comment might have come across a touch racist but have interacted enough with the lot to form an opinion about them.

its a good result, this should give some hope n confidence to this pakistani team to perform well in this series. I would hate this series to go the one sided way.... we need some closely fought series now

If you push the right buttons on the wrong people, that could happen during any match in any country. I'd me more interested in what provoked it.

Generally most players are fantastic at interacting with crowds. Sure some are not willing to sign a few autographs, but at worst that deserves some verbal flack from the crowd.

whats with the games starting so late? shouldnt they consider aussie and pakistan time zones since this is a aussie/pakistan series

read somewhere that they were sledging Dougeh and he sledged them back and things escalated a bit after that point.

tbh, they really would want to be considering the local expatriate populations. It's during the week, so they'll want as many people knocking off work and coming to the game as possible. 5pm starts and twilight finishes are fine and dandy. And the real hardcore fans back home (like me, somewhat unfortunately) will gladly stay up till 4:30am watching.

Totally worth it for Umar Akmal, imo.

Michael Clarke needs to stop making idiotic statements. If he does not have the heart to appreciate the opposition after a hiding, the least he can do is keep shut. Umar Akmal batted at number 3 against Australia in the World T20 semi finals..was the ball new enough for Clarke then?? His bowlers still got a thrashing though..

I want Clarke to swallow his pride and do something about his woeful form (because the selectors won't). t20 isn't a format that you can suck it up for a session or two and bat yourself into form, or graft a stodgy score to lift your confidence. He needs to do what Hussey did and make a determined effort to mould his game to fit all three formats, or stick to the formats he isn't a liability in.

like the look how Pakistan limited overs side is shaping up. In Amer and Gul you have two quality seamers backed up by two quality spinners Afridi and Ajmal. Umer is the fulcrum around which the middle order revolves around Afrid and Kamran play the role of dangerous floaters.I also feel Butt and Shazaib as an opening duo has some legs Butt provides the steady role while Shazaib biffs it around ofcourse it all depends on weather Shazaib can hack it at top leval.

Fawad should be brought in as he and Malik can be the perfect foil to Umer Akmal and Afrid in the middle order and also needs to get in a young all rounder some like Hammad Azam can do the job to replace Razzaq who along with Shoaib is on life support.I reckon this has the making of a good limited overs side for the next 4-5 years.
Don't know about Razzaq since he is only batting at number 7 or 8 position. Seems to get a break through or 2 as well.

Shoaib surely needs to go, although he looked a lot smoother then his asia cup outing seems like he forgot how to bowl completely. Asif is a much lesser a liability in T20 then Akhtar at the moment.

Good to see Malik playing some shots now that he is included in the team again...for ODIs and Tests Fawad certainly needs to be there, not too sure about T20s just yet.

But yes if they can play to win through out the duration of the game they have the potential to change momentum of the game there way as in most games they lose hope if they are under pressure.

I wish I could read this and feel all hopeful but apart from the bowling attack..there isnt much to look forward to.

Butt and Shahzaib are hardly an opening pair to get excited about. Mallik is hopeless outside the sub continent. Fawad does have a century against Sri Lanka but untested outside.
Umar is the only bright spot in the batting to be honest.

The bowling attack is another matter though.
Aamer, Shoaib, Asif, Gul, Ajmal, Afridi..

In fact..with Asif and Gul fit, Shoaib is less of a liability..you can drop him if unfit without any worry.
