The batting in WI domestic cricket is generally substandard, except for the Test players and the odd could-have-been (Stuart Williams and Philo Wallace). Thus, the bowling averages are generally deflated for spinners. It's harder for seamers to get wickets. For example, Marlon Black bowled very well this season but went for over 3.5 runs per over and had a 30+ average.
I thought West Indian pitches were made for pacers...

Can I just point out the major thing that has been missed from this game - Hayden's double failure means he's lost a few PwC points!

Congratulations to the official number 1 Test batsman in the World - M Vaughan

Hayden's run had to come to an end sometime, although one of the dismissals was a run out which doesn't really tell you anything about the form of the player.

Nope, don't eat pie.

Hmmmm...good bowler management?

Dillon: 23-1-116-1
Collins: 23-1-96-1
Lawson: 21-0-111-2
Drakes: 26.1-5-93-5
Samuels: 21-6-49-0
Ganga: 1-0-1-0

Somehow I think not. It looks like he's given each bowler about 20 overs regardless of weather they are getting smashed around or not.

I look at the scorecard and see a team totally on top of the bowling. As for the century, I have said many a time it is not his batting that is affected, it is the team which is.
Pardon me .... But this kind of argument really reflects very poorly of the thinkers knowledge of the subject and/or cerebral capacity or lack of it. Such absurd statements by Rik .... does not surprise me at all.

Its questionable if it was ever an argument... It was probably dead from the outset. However such works should never go unnoticed ... Dead or alive ! :duh:

Very much was, there was a disagreement which makes an arguement. Now if you have finished having another petty go at me I've got more important things to do.

Rik ... Believe it or not, I have nothing personal against you. After all why would one have anything against a fellow cricket follower ?
However I, Similar to many others,I reserve the right to question sense or lack of sense in some of your posts !!!
Who knows, It may even help you get a better understanding of cricket.

Since more than 50% of your posts contain views that sound very much like you have something personal against me, take your 1st ever post in which you had a go at me. This is a cricket forum, where you discuss cricket, it is not a competition about who knows more, it is a place where views are aired, you would be well advised to accept that people have differing views and sometimes you do not need to comment on them when 2 people have decided just to agree to dissagree. Now please, go and find someone else to annoy.

Well after the break in play, its time to get back to the cricket...

Gayle is eligible to play in the second test, as is Sarwan...

I dont think Gayle should replace Devon Smith, i think he should replace Wavell hinds, and Sarwan should replace Samuels instead of Ganga...

Although Ganga looks a bit average sometimes , i think he has got the technique to face the best bowlers in the world, its more the application that needs sorting out....

But the west Indies look very weak without elder statesman such as Adams, Campbell and Hooper to guide the youngsters, but at least they have good ones coming through.....

Not made for pacers as they were in the Ambrose, Walsh Era...

It reminds me of a really dead Zimbabwe track or one of the NZ drop in pitches when they played Pakistan

Well my friend once again you are sadly mistaken !If my memory serves me right, the very first time your logic was questioned by me was when you called Sanath Jayesurya a mere "slogger" and even claimed to be able to bat better than him ...lol .... Surly Do you expect people not to react when you make such obtuse statements ???? Maybe you should take a good look at yourself in the mirror. ;)
