TPC officially no.1 in ICC batsman rankings.

Never ever thought I would see such a thing a few years ago.

What a woefully uncompetitive series

Hopefully this convinces CA to revoke their invitiation to the Windies to play Tests out here this Summer

Expand the Trans-Tasman series to 5 Tests
Nah, White would just want to turn it into a 7 match odi series.

Starc was pathetic in the last test series against India. Only 2 tests against a hapless WI top-order doesn't change anything, especially when Johnson wasn't bad either.
Ha, I've never really been a fan of Starc in red ball cricket, but to say his series against India was pathetic is quite frankly ridiculous. I thought he looked as good as he's looked in tests during the Sydney game. Seemed genuinely sharper and not the old floaty 145ks stuff he specialised in before that. In what was a heavily dominated series by the batsman he far from disgraced himself.

From memory he was pretty poor in Brisbane, was very good in Sydney though. Weird stuff from weldone.

Virat Kohli (c)
Yeah, I watched him bowl very closely in sydney (obv arguable that perhaps on TV is better at times, but its still handy at the ground to watch in person) and he was good, particularly on day 5 where he bowled very well on a flat track.

I bet they inexplicably leave Harris out for Cardiff, like they did over there for the 1st Test in 2013

It will be under the cover of match fitness

Leaving Harris would be criminal, ffs you prevented him from playing the WC and months' cricket to supposedly keep him fit for the Ashes.

Still prefer MJ over Starc atm.

Nah, you only had eyes for Kohli, ****.

You're not wrong though; when Starc played the more MJ-ish role than his usual 145km/h floaty outswing stuff, he looked far more useful with the red ball.

Yeah Starc was good in the Sydney test. Only criticism would be he wasted the new ball in the final overs by bowling short (although tbh Smith should never have taken the new ball in the first place, Haze was getting the reverse and so was Starc IIRC)

Its clear Clarke declared because he had worked out that TPC had scored enough to become number 1. He would have declared earlier if he could
