Didn't anywhere near enough appreciation.Charles not in charge of that catch.
Woopdedoo, he's bashed a few minnows in his time. Give me a call when he does something remotely memorable.kallis 12000 runs and 270 wickets also play a part iirc
Winds you up, which is entertaining.Woopdedoo, he's bashed a few minnows in his time. Give me a call when he does something remotely memorable.
You seem to have me confused with Burgey.Winds you up, which is entertaining.
Every time someone rants about Kallis, I like him even more. I love cricketers who get hated on, except for Kohli; he's a ****.
Narine would have been a certain starter, but he's not under contract so the board is in a corner, if the lad wanted to stay then he would be picked but obviously that isn't the case so i guess Bishoo will have to do, not bad really considering he won the 'emerging player of the year' award last year!! .The WIB lets players pick the IPL over tests (assuming they're firsties starters)?
Blacklist those mofos.
Yep thats him, he's come on leaps and bounds since then, had a spell with the high performance academy and has played for Barbados, CCC and the West Indies A-team, his bowling average in all forms is pretty decent right now and he's just finished as the top pacer in our current four day competition, he's not lightening fast, i'd say he's like Broad or Phillander but he can swing it both ways, bowls a good line and gets major bounce, Ambrose is his new bowling coach at CCC now so no doubt Amby has been giving the lad some tips and it's starting to bear fruit from what i've seen, it's gonna be interesting to see how he does against the Aussies.i remember holder bowling awesomely in the u19 world cup a couple years ago, wouldn't mind seeing him
...Do the WICB provide any highlights of players similar to what ACB and NZC do?
I don't think so, many of our players going to the IPL either performed against India (like Russell) or performed in the champions league for Trinidad (like Narine, Pollard, Kevon Cooper etc).Do the WICB provide any highlights of players similar to what ACB and NZC do?
Hayne's Eels future getting murkierHaddin's sad truth
LAST week we mentioned our thoughts were with Brad Haddin and his family, but didn't want to say why the wicketkeeper returned from the West Indies. During the week Michael Slater explained what was wrong on his radio program, saying Haddin's toddler, Mia, was battling cancer. Here's hoping they get through these tough times. Karina Haddin is pregnant with the couple's third child.
He did well in the T20 tournament by slashing his bat at every delivery and he got lucky. It's still working for him to some extent so despite him possibly not deserving selection, he's done well enough that he's worth a go and will likely be in WT20 squad. Hopefully not starting though, would like:What's the deal with Johnson Charles? Is he expected to become a good cricketer? His record is horrid and he looks way out of his depth apart from some slashed boundaries.
Surely at 24 he is beyond the potential stage?
Can't disagree much with this except Braithwaite. He's in such horrible form I'd rather him not be destroyed so early. No idea who available could come in for him though. It's really only middle order batsmen who've done anything this season.Well the Gayle situation is still up in the air although he's very close to coming back but it's doubtful that this will be the series he returns, meanwhile Dwayne Bravo, Pollard, Narine, Samuels and Russell are IPL bound, with that in mind the team is likely to look like...
Brathwaite
Barath
Kirk Edwards
Darren Bravo
Chanderpaul
Deonarine
Ramdin (wk)
Sammy
Rampaul
Edwards/Roach
Bishoo
The Sammy situation still leaves me cold, i know he's captained the team well in these limited overs games but the fact is we need someone who can take wickets now, and he's not really done that in the series thus far , at the same time Fidel looked on fire yesterday while Roach is getting back to his best, Rampaul came back for Trinidad yesterday in a four day game and is a certain pick if he's fit because he's been our best pacer over the last twelve months, so it's gonna be a tough choice for the selectors,
Deonarine has been the best batsman in our current four day competition and is also taking wickets with his off-breaks, so he's seen as a natural replacement for Samuels, i'd even say he's much better with the bat right now to be honest, Brathwaite and Barath might not be the most experienced opening pair but they put up a 131 run opening partnerhship against india in our last Test so they've shown they can dig in, one dark horse might be a young pacer named Jason Holder who will be playing against Australia in the warm up match in a few days, if he does well he might find himself in the squad, many believe he could be the next Ambrose.
ohh thats sad. poor buggers, best wishes.
Got a 40 yesterday against Trinidad which was a timely little boost for the kid!! , to be honest there is no-one else, Powell has been poor and i can't see the selectors moving Kirk up the order when he's been so good at number three, Kraigg averages over 30 in his last four tests so i honestly think the selectors will stick with him for this series at least. Can't disagree much with this except Braithwaite. He's in such horrible form I'd rather him not be destroyed so early. No idea who available could come in for him though. It's really only middle order batsmen who've done anything this season.
Jesus.
