The antipodeans are getting restless again.:P

299-6 is one of those 'could go either way' scores, but I would hardly call it poor.

Could you not figure it out that I was referring to this series alone?

It would be ridiculous to say that Australia perform poorly in every 1st innings they've played over the last 5 years when it's obvious they haven't.

Infact the statement had no malice intended because I was then about to go on & say it was turning out to be a good thing for Australia because Sri Lanka were certainly faring no better in their 1st innings.
My bad. Just your original wording suggested with mandatory that it happened every first innings, which certainly isn't the case.

Well, we will need a big score in the first innings because with Brad Williams in there we will find it hard to take those extra wickets. Just another MacGill with a longer run up.

Good to see Katich back in the runs....

i think a few other people wanted Clarke in for Martyn.... who as a general rule is not a very good player of spin.... let alone the difference it might have made in the field, or even with the ball...

not that its relevant at all now....

Another Great Innings from Boof, Ponting looks to be picking up again as well :) though the real interest for this game lies in Shane Warne - and a hope of 9 wickets to go his way :)

Is it just me but do SL seem to have a case of the sour grapes, ordinary field settings, taking ages to bowl their overs seems like they are sulking a bit...

This game is going so slowly I even considered listening to macthbox 20 in one moment of boring madness. Warne out. Gillespie out...

217-4 at tea - and (shock horror) Murali yet to take a wicket.
he has taken 4 wickets so far in the game........it's 9/387 with jayasuria claiming Kaspa not too long ago.

Another 5 wicket haul to Murali. His 43rd.

Lehmann made 153 and became the 81st Australia to get past 1000 Test runs  :wow:

Sri Lanka handing out a bit of a beating at the moment with the bat!! :D

Sri Lanka - 55/0 (9 overs)

Jayasuriya 33 (33 balls)
Atapattu 18 (21)

Jono

Virat Kohli (c)
Jayasuriya's second innings knock has obviously woken up. You play best at your natural game, and Sanath is doing just that.

Typo, I'm afraid.

The day before the game, Simon Katich went into downtown Colombo for a curry.

It should have read 'back with the runs'
