MacGill was the pick of the spinners? I have him wicketless for the match, and going for 69 off 12 overs in Sri Lanka's second dig.

Roebuck writes some amazing things sometimes. Maybe he was drunk.
Yeah, I can't see how MacGill was the pick of the spinners when he only bowled 18 overs for no wickets. But how MacGill didn't pick up a wicket in his first 4 overs in the second innings is beyond me, he had the ball on a string. Just a shame for him Jayasuriya got to him after that.

I will be interested if the Australian selectors decide to blood Shaun Tait and not play MacGill.

Andre who seems to know these things about Australian selections might actually know or not.

I dont think it would be fair to debut someone on a dead rubber match... I dunno just seems kind of disrespectful.

As for poor old McGoo, surely his inferiority has been put on display for far too long...

I wouldn't think so. They don't give out baggy greens like lollipops. Besides I would have thought that Williams is next in line.

Baggy greens don't come for free. He was selected on this tour for the experiance. Brad Williams is still firmly ahead in thwe que, should they decide for a third pacer.

Katich could come in for Symonds, as has been his batting is more consistant and more suited to the longer version of the game.

I think there will be 2 changes for the last test. MacGill and Symonds will make way for Williams and Katich. Tait will not be picked. The only chance MacGill has got is if the pitch is like the one for the 1st test. Symonds has not taken the opportunity given. Warne's great bowling has meant that he hasn't bowled too much.

Although Murali has taken half of the wickets, they have come at a great cost and have been mainly against the tail. Warne to a lesser extent has done the same thing. Kasprowicz deserves the accolades he has received. He has had the knack of taking early wickets.

Atapattu may be feeling the strain of the investigation just before the series. He has not batted well so far.

Surely Katich will play in the next Test, after being desperately unlucky not to play the first two. Lehmann aside, Katich is Australia's best player of spin, and he has a much tighter technique than Symonds.

I would argue that he is a more dangerous bowler than Symonds as well, so there is no good reason for Symonds to be in the side IMO.

I cant see Macdud playing to many more test's again now that Warne is back.

I think he is a spent force everyone knows what he offers that is big spinning legbreaks and no accuracy.

Will Tillekaratne survive as captain? He didn't make runs against England and has failed in the two test so far.

A roughie for SL captain could be Chaminda Vass. He has certainly been inspirational so far.

When Glenn McGrath was due to play for a NSW country XI against the NSW side, he only made the trip because Doug Walters insisted he do it having seen him play. When the arrived at the ground, Dougie said "Now listen Glenn; if you take 3/20 off 10 overs, no-one will remember you. If you manage to hit one of the Waugh boys, you'll do your chances of being selected for NSW no end of good." Glenn smacked Mark Waugh on the helmet in that game and within a year was in the NSW side. 8 FC games later, he was in the baggy-green.

Make of that what you will. :)
