Ponting injured - Gilchrist struggling a bit against the spinners, s bring him in when seamers are on - if he then gets a few runs, he might play the spinners with more confidence...

Yeah I agree.

It's a good move if you ask me. Gilly handels the seamers and new ball fairly well and if he makes some runs then it will take the pressure off Australia and put it back on Sri Lanka.

OMG what a surprise...gilchrist fails again!!:(
another duck...i still have my bet on that hes not gonna reach a 50 in this entire series(ATM he'll be lucky to get to double figs)
Hate to be you. Gilchrist 50 off 73 balls, 7 fours, 1 six.

How much was that bet?

I believe about 250 to 300 would chalenge the Sri Lankans. Where can I find more on Ponting's injury?

100th Post! Wohoo!

Nice to see the two Waussies battling it out together. Gillie must be stoked. And I think Marto's name can be changed to Damien 'The Rock' Martyn, what do you think?! ;):P

I can't beleive we're in the 3rd innings, they've chased down the lead, and its not even Tea on Day 2:O

WOW (said in sarcasm) martyns had a couple of good test matches and now hes "THE ROCK". seriously WTF? If you remeber back before the Sri Lankan series Martyn hadn't scored a test century for two years and was in danger of being dropped from the test and one day team. If he had had a few good consistent years like hayden it might warrant the name of the rock but he hasnt so think about it before you post.

he may not have scored century after century but he certainly wasn't making ducks - he still managed a reasonable average.

Is it just me or does anybody else think these pitches(the 1st and 2nd test grounds) aren't up to Test Cricket standard? Who checks these things? In Australia and England the pitches might not be exiting but at least they are consistant.
umm noo i think the pitches in australia and england lately have been ridiculous.....why would u want to watch boring matches with people scoring 450 in a day at 5 runs an over all over the world??i would prefer to see wickets that really test the batsmen so that we can finally figure out who really is a good batsman and who is just a flat track bully(we can finally separate ppl like gayle, hinds, sehwag from the truly test class batsmen)

well it's 2/103....this pair seem to be quite comfortable atm.....martyn just whacked two consecutive 4s of Zoysa's bowling.....and Murali's now back in the attack!.......hopefully he unrolls some of his magic soon!:)

good to see him prove me wrong, well done to him but im still not convinced that hes a good enough player to be in the side on these sort of wickets.

What are you talking about Gillys is a great player on poor pitches not necicarily spinning pitches but I would never doubt him otherwise.

This pitch seems to have more in it for the quicks any way by the looks of things.

Unfortunatly you are not very well informed about Gilchrist if you dont rate him good enough to make the Australian team no matter what the pitch is like.

"the rock" eh??......that's kinda like the equivalent of "the wall".....and i can assure you Dravid didn't get that name just because he scored a hundred after 2 years and now a 30........its called consistency......and you should know because i was looking at your signature thingy and it say form is temporary, class is permanent. what Martyn has atm is form which is flickering like a lightbulb..........as for his class.......i think he temporarily lost that two years ago.

Gee I give a little joke, and they jump on my back. Lighten up guys!
As you've probably noticed, I am a big fan of Marto's, so I was quite annoyed when somebody gave him the name Damien duck Martyn during the VB series. This is just a response to that. So build a bridge already.

does anyone know wher i can listen to the cricket online through audio commentary or the like. i dont have Foxtel or Willow TV and the only way i can see the cricket scores is through the ACB

I can assure you Martyn didnt just score a hundred after 2 years, and now a 30 either. He's been getting 30's, 40's and higher, and hasnt scored below 20 more than about 3 times. But I guess you wouldn't know about that. It's called consistency.
