I think SL might get their tier 1 test status revoked. They can continue tests but in tier 2, just like Zimbabwe, afg, Ireland , now. Next to go will be pak, bang and wi into tier 2 . Keep the top 5 sides for tier 1 tests only.- Aus, saf, ind, nz, and England to only play in the future is fair as the games can be close at times.

Very weak cricket team.

Can you take your reactionary opinions somewhere else please?

Anyhoo, despite a bit of fight at points with the bat that was disgraceful from what has so far been a good SL side. It was like they checked out once they lost the toss. Our batting was far too good and completely overwhelmed an attack lead with little imagination.

Mentioned before this test that SL actually has a reasonable pace attack now

This pitch did them no favours whatsoever and played right into Australian hands

I'm glad they played Murphy here. If we're aren't playing him here then when do you? These sub con tours should be treated as valuable experience for our spin bowlers and an opportunity for our batsman to play these conditions. Our pitches give no opportunity for either.
You need three spinners on these pitches and with Webster, any more than one main seamer is a waste. Murphy looked really good in England last time and even if he has regressed a bit, you've still got to keep faith in him, even if he is decisively the third spinner.

Boland is a quality bowler but there was nothing in that game to suggest he would have been at all a threat. Starc's wickets were basically all hooping new ball inswing with the ball skidding through (or indirectly related to that), which is not what Boland does.

Murphy's bowling has frustrated me all summer watching him in every game I've seen of him, but it was definitely the right call to pick him.
