Konstas missing Shield to carry drinks and then Inglis playing as a bat would also be mega stupid. Surely Handscomb is better for that role and surely Konstas would be better off staying home and playing if he's gonna be a reserve for a two Test series.

It seems to be circling around the worst of all possible worlds.
Handscomb did poorly in the last india tour. he deserves to be dropped.

This is the XI. Captain Smith basically confirmed it. you want two left arm spinners in the subcontinent to bowl from both ends if the pitch works for it. You also have two offies if the pitch works for that also ,its a bit of a lottery the subcontinent pitches but having enough spinners is the key.

Australia always does “well” when we stack the team with spinners

Ordinary bowlers are still ordinary whatever type of bowlers they happen to be

Fun fact: the last time we won a series in India, we picked our best attack

Hey weren't you the one saying that picking more than one spinner in India last time was a terrible idea that wouldn't possibly work?

I'm sure if it would have gone great though if we had stacked our game full of fast bowlers on those dustbowls...

I do think the nature of wickets has changed a lot since the 2000's though. The last 10-15 years in particular wickets in the subcontinent are much spinnier (and subcontinential batsmen often less good against spin) than what they used to be IMO.
