Australia could be in trouble in all formats in 2-3 years.
The bowling should carry Aus pretty well over that period in Tests but yeah the cliff is fast approaching in white ball at this rate. The replacements aren't merely downgrades on the incumbents, they're downright not international standard in most cases (and not close to being so).

That's if they can get the bowling onto the park. We're seeing here what happens when they don't.

I'm not sure Australia know how to bat out 50 overs anymore. Here are times bowled out in last 6 months

165 - 33.5 overs vs Sri Lanka
140 - 31.5 overs vs Pakistan
163 - 35.0 overs vs Pakistan
126 - 24.4 overs vs England
270 - 44.4 overs vs England
A timely reminder that Australia does not know how to bat for 50 overs anymore 😞

Honestly at this rate should we be surprised? Pakistan blew this team off the park as well, and that was at home. This is just a poor, poor team at the moment.

Maybe not that surprising considering player development at the domestic level for it has been ignored for years. I wouldn't be surprised if they try Konstas soon.

At least we avoid the humiliation of a double figures score.

Wont even be top 4 test nation once the big six retire(Smith, Cummins, Starc, Hazlewood, Boland, Lyon). Several of these guys will be retiring in the next few years. Top for a while will likely be SAF as they keep finding new pace bowlers and young batters(Similar to the 2010s when SAF was top with Steyn and Philander etc).
