Very avg strike rate, for a ODI pretty much up there with Dippenaar. Who would he have replaced in the ODI's?

With No Kemp I would think it will be either Rudolph or Dippernaar :)
In the VB Series, Rudolph batted better than Prince, Gibbs, Smith and Kemp. That`s what I remember seeing. :)

The century he made in the Tests was brilliant as well.

What does Gillespie have to do to get a recall by the way? Very surprised he's not included considering his performances this season.

Easiest way to get an extra batsman in is not to play 2 wicketkeepers:)
de Villiers can `keep, but he`s easily in on his batting alone. He`s also an awesome fielder in general. :)

Really was a brilliant century :) I like the guy don't get me wrong but I would rather have the other guys I have mentioned.

I have never been a Dippernaar fan, but he has proven me wrong lately and thats why I throwing the open spot up between the two of them.

AB is much more batsmen than a wicketkeeper, I have great faith in this young man and recon he and Smith will become a very good opening pair.

And on Gillespie...

With the new ball he`s awesome. Looks like he could get many wickets very quickly. It`s when he comes back on for later spells that he starts to look like his Ashes-self.

Ahh, a case of stats not telling the whole story. So he's not taken Benaud's advice and had a look at that wrist position then.

Thats what I would like to see from the SA team. Perhaps dropping Hall for Dippenaar or Rudolph to get the extra batsmen since we have Kallis and Kemp bowling again.
So what youre saying is "same ole cannon fodder and hope for the best."

This team doesnt bat below 4 and would not have the remotest chance of posting a competitive total on a consistent basis.

Prince is the second best batsman and must play.

After "pass me the the phone", the only words out of Warne's mouth would be "give me the ball."

He is sensational. One of the most promising cricketers - and very likely to fulfil that promise - on the International circuit.

I used to really detest Kasper and Clark. But both have worked their way into my favour, especially Kasper with numerous displays of courage and effort. Everyone also says he`s a top bloke and he seems it. Good luck to both of them, and I really do think Kasper will have a great series.
yea i back Kasper to do well, but you sure Dizzy never lead Australia attack, what about vs WI 2003, Ind 2003/04 (even though not fully fit) & SRI 2004?

i'd still be happier with Gillespie there though. I just can't see Kasprowicz leading a test attack, he's more of a support bowler, whereas Gillespie at his best is capable of anything. They both had comparable domestic seasons, but if Gillespie is back to his best I'd prefer him to any other bowler around.

I think everyone will agree though that Clark shouldn't play. He's a pretty solid ODI bowler because he's accurate and gets difficult bounce and has a good yorker, but I can't see him taking wickets in test cricket. There's half a dozen bowlers back at home I'd prefer to him, at least.
1. Exactly, hopefully he does well for Yorshire & he is back for the ashes & beyond..

2. Definatey, Bracken should have definately been retained for the test without doubt..
