I still find pitch-invaders funny. I don`t condone it in any way, bit I do laugh immensely when I see it.
Must admit I found one of Saturday's ones hilarious too. 2 of them were just stupid and annoyed me because of the delay they caused to the play, but the other was this naked guy who dodged at least two tackles and received a standing ovation from quite a lot of the crowd.

I don't condone it either, but the way the match was going a few people tried to find other ways to amuse themselves, doubt there'd have been any problems if NZ had played decently. Some of them were extremely stupid though.

I just saw some highlights of the match... AND DAMMIT! I want to see it even more now, Brett looked great, superb L&L.

Damn.

I actually enjoyed the match. Those people who didnt are sore losers :D
Most of the match was enjoyable yes, especially on the terraces, wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. Some of the batting by NZ was painful to watch though.

Does anyone know if the remaining games will be televised? Going from the first one, they'll only need about 3 hours of broadcasting time anyway :D

Eh, yes, very witty....hmmm....

I can't see why Fleming isn't being brought back for the 2nd game. If he's fit to play first class cricket, surely he would be so for international cricket?

He isn't fit because he had facial surgery, something to do with a cancer scare i think.

He's scared of BLee too. :p

After his efforts against him in March, I can hardly blame him.

Yeah, but he played for Wellington today in the State Championship (and scored 62).

The surprising thing for me is that it seems confined to cricket. Ive been to many rugby matches in NZ and the crowds have been great - win, lose or draw.
Except when Kaplin cost us the Bledisloe Cup... Norm Maxwell had to shield him off the field.

re: the cricket, a lot of it has to do with drinking all day in the sun and the closer proximity of the players. Plus New Zealanders are reckless - a lot of my friends used to jump the fence at concerts or break into public swimming pools at night. The consequences simply aren't that great. You get a diversion and a slap on the wrist.

They need to up the penalties. $500 is nothing. On Saturday, a guy was collecting money so he could do a run on and pay for his fine.

Having said that, I doubt you'll have these problems when Sri Lanka or the West Indies tour. The way I saw it, it was alcohol + the heat + terraces + Australia + 6/33.

Geez, it's $3000 or $4000 here in Australia. Then again, our dollar is worth considerably more. So, it's about even, I guess... :)

$5000 im pretty sure - not to mention the 12 months ban (or the life ban for 2nd offence)

I was at the Champions Trophy game last year when Australia played New Zealand. They had about 30 people run onto the pitch at the end of the game. Its like when one guy got caught another would run out there. One of the funniest things I have ever seen in my life. The whole crowd stayed and watched this. Farkin funny. :D

Vettori ahead of specialist batsman like vincent, Mcmillan, Marshall :-O surely ure joking. I also think that TWO non-specialist openers at the top of the order will backfire against Australia and the top 3 are more attack-orientated rather than innnings constructers.
i'd rather:

Astle
McCullum (k)
Vincent
Styris
H Marshall
Cairns
Oram
Vettori
Mills
Franklin
Bond

when fleming's back put him at top of order and mcCullum at H Marshall's slot

I was having a joke. Anyway that line up probably would get more than 105

Do you still back Hamish Marshall being in the squad?
