I don't think he's test quality (yet), but on this pitch, a second spinner, even an 'OK' one could be vital.
Indian batsmen (bar Yuvraj) are top draw at playing spin, so I really doubt anything less than a high quality spin bowler would cause them much difficulty in any conditions.

oh hayden should've known better with a fielder there...the shot that brought him the most success last tour, brought him down this time...

Virat Kohli (c)
Michael Atherton scared the crap out of me when he yelled "DROPPED!" But Yuvraj just showed the ball to the crowd :D

The commentator's knew that shot was coming, Harbhajan knew that shot was coming, I really don't know why Hayden would go for that but oh well.

4 layers were mentioned in the post that was replied to, all Queenslanders.

N.S.W. & Victoria are pretty much in the same boat, it is the other states that have to put u with the non-centralised bias.

While I think this "problem" is overrated, you have to remember that its not just confined to Queensland. There are 3 other states, you know.

Yes, I know, and couldn't agree more. It was ridiculous that Martyn fell on the sword because Australia lost that test match against South Africa. Look how hard he had to work to get into the side. Katich wasn't a serious contender until he moved states. Now Hussey, & Co. will face similar problems.

Just remember, Mr Wright, that most of the selectors are from Queensland, so it's all your own fault! :p

How is Victoria in the same boat as NSW? It's not like there are lots of Vics getting in the Aus team. Apart from Warne, Elliott is about the only other Vic to make the test team since Jones and Elliott was lucky to get a game a few months back because he happened to be in the country at the time and had recent games under his belt...if the aus selectors had another week he wouldn't have been picked.

No, half the selectors come from the N.S.W. media. The Queensland selectors can't be seen to show bias, or otherwise there is an uproar from the South about their less-credentialed (sp?) players playing ahead of the far more talented Queenslanders and players from other states.

Not having Love in the squad might sound harsh but I just dont think the selectors rate him that highly.. Probably for the same reasons I dont.. Having said that he deffinatly deserved a go before Clarke.
