What's Warne's average in the series now? With 2-47 in the first innings and 1-10 here it must be close to going under 30 now.

This series is a slight red herring in that SRT was injured for the 2 tests (and I have doubts if he has recovered fully to play this Test, despite his playing ATM ) and for this Test India has lost not one, not two but three of their key players.
No excuse. Not even slightly. For the Aussie home series against India, the Aussies were without two bowlers with 900+ Test wickets between them for the entire Test series (McGrath and Warne) and and least they managed to draw the series! You think there'll be any sympathy for the Indian players because they were missing two key bowlers for one Test? You're kidding............

And on current form, Ponting was a bigger loss for the current series than Sachin. So don't even TRY to throw that rubbish our way. India were beaten with largely their full-strength side in the first Test (with at least equivalent losses to both side in Ponting and Sachin) and although weakened for this Test, they still shouldn't have folded as badly as this.

Agarkar needs to make some big runs if they want a chance of surviving till tomorrow, so long as Kumble stays in.

I'm glad that Gillespie is finally getting results that he deserves. His bowling deserves a 5 for virtually every match.

We have been royally sssss....slaughtered. Nothing less. No wicket, no umpires, no injuries, nothing can change that fact

Its just been poor application from all of the top order batsmen, and just some outstanding bowling by Australia. Why don't other opposition teams stop their whining and moaning and learn from the best there is.......

Well, the series is over from India's standpoint and I'd love to see them experiment and think 'outside the square' when it comes to selection for the 4th test.

Personally I'd like to see Gautam Gambhir given a go at test cricket. For years he's been the best opener in India without a doubt and he does have some sort of temprement and also has the aggressive ability required. He's quite a tenacious, yet also stylish batsman when required.

Also Patel despite his good showings with the bat must go, he must surely realise that his wicket keeping will be a bigger issue then his batting will ever be. In place of him, I'd like to see Dinesh Karthik. We saw his wonderful work when he stumped Michael Vaughan in England, and he's the ideal candidate to replace Parthiv Patel behind the stumps.

With Sourav Ganguly out, this gives Mohammad Kaif another well deserved opportunity in the middle order. I'd like to see Kaif stay as well in this side and he deserves his spot. Harbhajan Singh should come back as should Irfan Pathan.

Below is the (slightly new) squad I'd like to see:

1. Virender Sehwag
2. Gautam Gambhir
3. Rahul Dravid
4. Sachin Tendulkar
5. VVS Laxman
6. Mohammad Kaif
7. Dinesh Karthik
8. Irfan Pathan
9. Harbhajan Singh
10.Anil Kumble
11.Zaheer Khan

Although I will be the first to admit this squad wouldn't make a winning squad at all, since Dravid, an Injured Tendulkar and a Very Very Suspect Laxman are all in abysmal form at the moment, it's still a refreshing new look for this Indian side.

I think Sachin is brilliant..but how long can he be allowed to be so unproductive..yep he got that double hundred and that 190 odd a bit ago..but other than that he has done nothing for a couple of years now..i think he has been out in single figures 13 times in the last 20 innings. Should India go with him based on past glories or maybe they should be thinking that he has to start performing again or else

But you still want him in the side ?

I had suggested before this test that he should be rested and I nearly got lynched on this forum :-O

I would have thought that Laxman was more in danger of losing his spot than Sachin. Don't forget that he was rushed back into the side without match practice and probably before he was ready.
