What the hell have I done wrong now?

That would be a crying shame - why on Earth would he want to do that?
He wait's all this time to get into the team, then when he finally start's to build himself a career, he give's it away!
Still, itll make the Australian's weaker, so it has its plus-point's.
????
The problem was "it's plus-points". Surplus to requirements.

Who do I support?

Okay guys, I've got a bit of a problem here - I can't make my mind up as to who I want to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy next month. As an Englishman, I passionately hate Australia, however I cannot stand the way we would get so many Indians who will undoubtedly proclaim their side as the greatest ever of all time ever should they win the series. So I want both teams to get whacked... and hence am confused.

Help! :)
You think thats bad, try it from an Australian cricket lovers perspective.

Intellectually, I know that, for the good of the game and keeping things interesting, Aus must loose a few and the competition as a whole become more balanced.

Less rationally, I always want the loosing to happen in some later series, never the one coming up.

Almost irrationally, I agree with you about how Indian fans are likely to be insufferable should they win ( and as a starting shot, Aus had to beat he previous champs, in an away series to be considered the best a draw wasn't enough).

Most irrationally, I *never* want to loose to the poms.

Looking at the way Indian Seniors batted against India 'A', I'd guess Bangalore match is going to be not pretty for Indians.

What exactly has happenned to the batsmen after the Pak series. Don't they practice when not playing matches ?

Most Indian fans on these forums are rational and decent, but as always you do get a few exceptions.
And I expect we'll see a few turn up in the next week or so...

Australia currently 1-78 with Langer caught by wicketkeeper Vinayak Samant off
Ajit Agarkar.

Hayden has made a strong start with 47* whikle Agarkar has 9-3-16-1

Hmm Katich at no 3 - a sign of things to come?
Quite right IMO and something I always expected.
Katich has been a number-three all his career and it makes much more sense to have him there than Clarke.

Clarke was never in contention for the number 3 spot. Ever.

I really don't know where you pulled that from.

Who was then?
Langer?
Gilchrist, Hodge... Even Marto or Lehmann, but Gilchrist doesn't want to move them from their current positions.

So, pretty much anyone.

In a media release they said Katich, Gilchrist, Martyn and Lehmann were all being considered.

I would've put Katich there myself but I thought the management would go with Gilchrist considering he tends to bat better up the order in the subcontinent while the ball is still new and the seamers still operating.

Australia 3-153 shortly before stumps.

Hayden made a belligerent 67. Wicket takers for Mumbai - Agarkar, bahutule and Kulkarni.

Things are interesting in the Bangalore game....India need 381 to beat India A
and at stumps are 0-35 with Yuvraj and Sehwag opening.

Suppose so but myself I almost took it for granted that Katich would bat three - would have been very surprised if it had happened otherwise.

There seem to be 3 options.

1. Katich at 3, Clarke at 6.

2. Gilchrist at 3..if they bat first of after a short indian innings, otherwise Katich, Clarke in at 6/7.

3. Hodge at 3 as a straight swap for Ponting.

All have their good points, but I suspect 2 is probably the most likely ( gilly did well Vs SL at 3, and there is a strong theory about him being better is he gets to start against the quicks...he might even drop back down the order if the openers get a good start ) offical line is that the final decision will be upto the captain ( Gilchrist ).
