What effect do the light rollers have on these pictures generally? Australia will be hoping it's flattened out the rough a bit for the first half our to an hour I guess, then see what happens from there. These two have to try and be there at lunch.
None.

If you remember, early in his career, Sehwag reined himself in brilliantly in overseas conditions and did very well. Scored very good hundreds on his first tours to England and SA. He just went into cbf mode on all subsequent tours which was annoying, because he showed he clearly could play in those conditions if he applied himself.
I don't think he was ever particularly likely to score runs in SA as an opener, regardless of how much he applied himself. His early runs there were in the middle order.

Smitteh with the early #intent here. Looking at having a crack at them in the last session

I'll give Kohli the benefit of doubt in this case but if failing over when fielding is counted as an external injury that makes an easy way to arrange yourself a rest break.
Making batters stay out in field and wearing them, so that after a couple of days they find it hard to bat.
Teams with a tough batting situation may find slipping over too big a ploy not to take advantage of.

Fair enough, but my point is that he did apply himself better as a debutant. He wouldn't have succeeded even in the middle order later in his career the way he was batting.

At least he fielded all dig.

Hey, it's a crucial passage of play at the end of Day 4 in a crucial Test match, surviving this could be critical to us getting out with the draw

Oh shoot, Davey just got out. We just got a handful of balls left to survive

Time for the captain to man up and see this out and lead his side into tomorrow like the leader he is...

"Hey Garry, pad up you're going it"

Just saw the Warner dismissal. Fmd how long has this idiot been on tour in India and he does that. Must have the comprehension of a pre-schooler.

Yeah that's true.

I think on his 2006/07 tour he was beaten by his technique as opener rather than his lack of application. He took the piss in his last tour there though.

Early Sehwag was a young upstart who wanted to impress the world

Then he found Sehwagology and became the Monk who dominated with a smile on his face and without a care in the world

He's great fun on Hindi comms now/

*****,

Teams generally have a team rule about nightwatchmen and it is decided before the match.
It would not have been done on the spur of the moment

"You've got to keep in mind that this kid is from Queensland."

Yeah Haydos, there's a real danger of you forgetting that if you don't keep reminding yourself, I'm sure...
