Think Estrayas next best chance is at Dharmashala. Cant see anything other than an Indian win here although I'll happy to be proven wrong

Thoroughly agree. If you're flying Cummins over there he has to play. Stoinis can be there for experience but Cummins should be playing shield cricket if he's not paying test match cricket.

Maxwell realistically should bat 6. Khawaja isn't good enough against spin and Stoinis isn't there yet.

Whatever it takes!!!
Stoinis will reach earlier than Cummins though, I think. :) Anyways, I said it earlier as well, I do not expect major changes. Maxi and Cummins in for the Mitches is what makes perfect sense both in terms of going for the positive options as well as the conditions you can expect at Ranchi. I expect India to play 5 bowles though and maybe have Pujara open with Rahul and drop Mukund for Kuldeep. Although I do hate the idea of dropping a new comer after just 1 game. We need to wait and see how Rahul's shoulder is going too.

If Uzi and anyone else (Agar?) was taken with no intent of playing them then they should have been left at home to play for their States. Agar and Maxi have been talked about but other than some brief discussion before the 1st test about Uzi opening it seems like he is zero chance of playing.

I wonder if the selectors and leadership group have had a chat to Khawaja in private to explain their thinking. It's never really been addressed directly - and I guess they can't come out and say we have no faith in your ability against a spinning ball. It does seem quite harsh though and perhaps a mistake in hindsight; Khawaja is a class player and he could have basically done no worse than MMarsh in the first two tests. Still, against all my better instincts, I couldn't resist playing Maxwell next test. Interesting what the sectors do though - Maxwell is definitely not the golden child amongst that particular grouping.

If Vijay isn't fit, Shreyas Iyer should be given a look but it won't happen.

From India Pov, I hope Maxwell plays as he'll most probably make a fool of himself. Plus given that he's mostly a part-time bowler, Australia will be down to 4 bowlers, with one of them being Cummins, who probably won't be able to bowl too many overs.

I'm sure Maxwell and Aust would like nothing more than Indians underrating the potential impact of Maxwell, with bat or ball.

Yeah like Mitchell Marsh bowled so many overs
