Na, Hauritz was a lame option. Allowed India to get comfortable, especially near the end.Maybe you're right there. Tbh I was probably fixated on getting Tendulkar out. Thought maybe Johnson the better bet.
Broad,Nitini,Siddle all have done well without an away going ball.George is missing an away-going ball quite badly. Whether via swing or off the deck, it hurts him that he can only bring the ball back in, especially since he bowls from wider on the crease than, say, McG. Doesn't really hit the seam all that consistently either, should be hurrying the batters more at that pace. Getting both would be great but one of either would improve his bowling by heaps at Test level.
Definitely not the finished product but with all the injuries, he really was next in line with miles in the legs.
Debatable that Siddle 'did well', was probably at risk of being dropped before his injury. And Ntini did work at least a straightening ball into his game which I'm sure Siddle is working towards too. Their stock balls do more than George's too but none of those guys are all-time greats. A ball going away is a must or serious improvement in his stock ball. This isn't from yesterday either, it's a big reason why he hasn't taken many wickets for SA outside of Bellerive.Broad,Ntini,Siddle all have done well without an away going ball.
waghauritz to tendulkar, four, 52.2 mph, 58th test fifty up. It was floated on the leg stump and he swept it really fine to collect a boundary. He has crossed 50 in his last ten games
LOL half this team was less than 5 years old when Sachin made his debut
Wasn't opening the batting last time. Yes he took wickets against Pakistan but he wasn't out there long with the bat.lol whats with Watson? His bowling has been trash this tour. I mean he was arguably Australia's best bowler last time around. Carrying an injury or something?
Didn't think it would make that much of a difference though. He's on a golden run at the top of the order so it would be silly to suggest him moving down the order. But as soon as he goes a few test matches with average scores I would move him down. Would much rather prefer his bowling.Wasn't opening the batting last time.
