What was Clarke doing? That was a terrible, terrible innings.

Great bowling Freddy Flintoff! Warne adds to his duck tally.

Argh.

I do hope the conditions are better, I'd like to see McGrath and Warne giving it their all tonight.

Its the fact that the middle order has shown zero application all series that begins to grate, Martyn hasn't contributed, Gilly has been embarassing, Kat has his moments but just not reliable enough.

Clarke goes cheaply when his team needs him, poor old warney misses out, but no blame there.

Its the missed opportunity that frustrates the **** out of me, we had a chance to squeeze England and we have ****ed it away in 2 and 1/2 hours.........its the story of the series........heaps of hard work then a collective brain snap.

Just not good enough and at this stage, the players collectively must be held accountable.

Dear me @ Vaughan's catch

Is this the first time McGrath's batted at 10?
They always said he would if he and MacGill played together. I didnt realise Tait was that bad... My my.

No. Unless he did early in his test career, the first time he batted at 10 was against Pakistan in 99 for 2 tests ahead of Muller and against Pakistan again in Sydney this year ahead of MacGill.

Actually, being a long way from the equator matters little this time of year...I'm up above the Polar Circle at the mo and it still sets about 8. Equinoxes and whatnot. :)
I mean the quality of light - low angle = a lot of atmosphere for the light to get through.

Thats the shame of it, the lights poor so Australia needed to bat for large chunks of today, for no other reason than to prolong the game and give themselves a chance.

As soon as England are offered the light they'll be off and that will be the end of it.

A seriously **** poor effort today and heads should roll.

There's one definitive moment in this game coming up, which is when the umpires look at the light after a 10 minutes break between the innings. Australia's chances, whatever they might be, rest on that decision.

Yep, well said. And, considering they do play, it's all up to Warne and McGrath, and to a lesser extent, Lee.
