Great, great innings from Hayden there. You can say what you like about him, but true champions show their true colours when under amazing pressure. He may not be an alltime great, but he is a champion, that cannot be denied. :D

Great ball from Flintoff.

Anyway getting back to the SA tour, if this light had been around there the umpires would have just took them off - have the rules been changed since then?

Bye bye Hayden.
Thats what i was thinking, i don't know what Atherton is on, i'm pretty sure it was Billy that took them off in SA wasn't it?

That would have been out if he'd seen it ironically, this light is dangerous to the fielders.
Go to your window, open it and listen. If the wind is just right, and there is no traffic noise where you are, and you listen hard enough, somewhere in Pakistan, you can hear Moin Khan laughing. :(

The difference is Pakistan time wasted so much time that they deserved nothing (if the umpiring had been good in the first place they'd have got Pakistan bowling 15 overs an hour and they wouldn't have had to go with 2 wrongs making a right).

You actually think the umpires should force the batsmen to take the light? At midday? That's a good one.

If Pakistan were capable of bowling more than 9 overs an hour, I'd agree with you. Otherwise, go and read a book.

I can't remember, but I'm beginning to recall Nicholas' interview with the umpires on Friday (I think) where I think they said something about if the light goes below a certain level they'll then offer it to the fielders. I guess the level is something like pitch black.

If in the umpire's opinion the light is dangerous to the fielders then the time of day is irrelevant.

Great spell from Flintoff here. Australia need to make it to lunch, then try and pile on a quick hundred or so afterwards and hope the light improves.
