***Official*** Australia in England (The Ashes)

With Collingwood in the team, it`ll be a lot harder for Australia to win. Anderson wouldn`t have done much surely. Whereas Collingwood makes the batting line-up huge, and England still has potency with the ball.

Advantage Australia.

Unproven batsman and an extremely ordinary bowler at this level.
hmm i cant ``WORD`` to this one with total convinction, colly may be unproven but he better fail but now that England have a long batting line-up Australia should pick 5 bowlers in McGrath/Lee/Tait/Warne/MacGill

The decision to play Collingwood means if England win the toss, the Ashes could be over by Friday evening. They rack up 550 with 8 batsmen on 1st innings and Australia have almost no way back. Toss is crucial, as always at the Oval.

Yes, and people were writing off Jones, Hoggard and Flintoff with the ball before the series...
yes unfortunately anderson is actually tripe, and as much as i dont think collingwood is going to make a difference in this side, id still have him ahead of anderson.

What makes you think they'll rack up 550? They've not even passed 500, and the closest they got was when McGrath was out and an underperforming bowler (Kasper) was in. Now that Australia have four bowlers who have performed well (admittedly, Tait only played one test but he looked a damn sight better than Dizzy or Kasper), it's going to be a lot tougher for the batsmen.

As good as this England outfit is, I can`t see them being anywhere near dominant on the sub-continent. Spin department is yuck.

Making me think of Lara`s 400, Batty!

Umm...

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Indeed. A very crucial toss. Still, like I said before, with four good bowlers in, it might not be all that bad.
The Aussies just need to remember one thing-- Catches win matches
