Mainly, I think it's just MacGill who's getting slaughtered out there. Gillespie and Kasprowicz don't seem to have gone too badly, and Tait and Lee haven't bowled many overs. MacGill's going at about a run a ball though.

well Bell's just gone down like he's been shot in the C&G semi, and from the stump mike he appears to be talking about his hamstring....

Interesting. That probably ensures a Collingwood call-up then.

It's testimony to Tait's improval that Essex are only taking him for nearly 5 an over this time around rather than over 10 :p

well he's back up and moving about now, possibly just cramp, he's a bit ginger though, just chipped one in to the legside for his 50 and now he's asking for a runner

200 for Cook. Quite remarkable. You really have to wonder what sort of crap is being bowled here, however flat the wicket is.

MacGill-style crap.

0-113.
Indeed. It's one thing to get taken apart by India on a concrete pitch, but this is Essex and you'd expect better. I can't see him getting picked at The Oval now.

Essex to bat all day tomorrow as well, Cook to make 600 and Bopara 300.

Essex 1100-1.

Couple of quick wickets for Tait to finish the day, should help his chances of making the team on Thursday a bit. 4/472 at the end of the day though, a real shocker for Australia.
