Sorry, forgot about Bond.

Pre-injury, he looked the most gifted of the lot.
yep but does he naturally swing the new ball, the only time i ever saw him bowl in a test before (since i missed him during the ZIM test recently) were his matches againts the australia & i cant remember if he swung the new-ball or not, but he does swing the white ball.

1. steve, steven isn't ur name steven wright  sorry if i called u by an unknown name :D

2. Well pup is young with experience he may change that agressive nature of his & bat differently i would think.
While I consider myself a very, very funny person. I'm not as dry as Steven Wright, I tend to be more active when I do stand-up. My name is Kyle.

2. I'd rather see him do that in domestic cricket, and let a more experienced player fill the void will he gains the experience he needs. It is worse for Australian cricket if he doesn't continue to do well and is dropped when he should really be stepping up to carry the next generation of Australian cricketers.

He does look a rare talent though and even hard-nosed veterans like Border prefer to see him playing his shots rather than going into his shell.
He should continue to be attacking, it is his natural game. However, he seems to want to attack all the time in every situation. While that can be a good thing every now and then, you have to weigh up the situation when it might be time to knuckle down and grit out 30 runs over an hour and half and then unleash. It is what comes with experience.

1. Cool :D

2. Well it seems as if the selectors a willing to let Pup fail & gain at the international level & rather not go for an experienced player such as Hodge, Love etc. But i see your point he hasn't come into the test side on the basis of plundering runs in pura cup/sheiffield shield a la Mark Waugh, Ricky Ponting so he would be more exposed than them, but i think he has fared well so far in this series......

This is what has impressed me most about Pietersen thus far.

I agree, I have been most impressed with Pietersen. I just hope he realises in future that he has to have more confidence in his tail. Giles can hang around...actually they all can hang around. He should have got a hundred when he got 71.

I love how KP whips the ball from outside off-stump through the leg-side. Great wrist action - very Laxman-like.

I don't see what the fuss about Clarke not performing is all about. He still looks all class to me.
I don't doubt he is a classy player I just hope that this early exposure to test cricket will hinder his future test career. We are going to need a new breed of batsman very soon.

However, he is too inconsistent for my liking, especially for someone who bats at 5, one fo the most important and overlooked batting positions.

His Career - 151, 17, 5, 39*, 91, 73, 17, 7, 141, 7, 1, 27, 20, 35, 8, 8, 22, 11, 91, 40, 30, 7, 39.

He had a great series in India, but once he got of his favoured spinning pitches it has been more of a struggle for him. A lot of starts there since his 141 in Brisbane but only once has he got past 40 in his last 14 innings.

Whatever it takes!!!
And he has got a nice forward press to try and counter a fast inswinger, which Laxman never does. And KP bends down his knee as well, to try and play the skiddy inswingers that don't bounce high and knock the stumps down. I have Laxman get bowled that way a million times.

I think he is losing concentration, maybe expecting runs to come more easily than they did. But I think he will learn with experience.

Which is exactly my point. He should be gaining that experience in domestic cricket. I don't see why after 10 years of developing experienced players for our test side which is the reason we have been so successful we sudenly jump up and down at the rushing in of any young player who scores a hundred. It is silly.

Out of all the batsmen in this series I enjoy watching the most, it has to be Vaughan. That full faced drive is immaculate.
Vaughan is without doubt the best batsman in the world to watch when in full flight. His hundereds in Australia and is 166 in the 3rd test will always live in my mind until I die. Simply spectacular.

He is imperious through the off-side. Like an Emporer. However, I do love his pull shot in front of square-leg. The ball doesn't even have to be all that short
