Australia won two 'absolutely critical tosses' as well.
How were they absolutely critical? With one of them, Australia batted and got bowled out for under 200, and on the other one England batted on a completely dead wicket...

That doesn't excuse chronic inaccuracy.

On his day I can see him being great but he's too inaccurate for my liking.
true but the lead up to this match it was said that the pitch would have some bounce wellllllllll

Trent Bridge NEVER has any bounce. Starts low and gets lower. Watch out for the shooters on the last day :D

They were as critical as the 2 England have won were. Lord's kept producing grubbers after Australia had messed up their first innings, the second Test was a good toss to win, unless you decide to bowl first on it...

You're really impossible to discuss anything objectively with. If you can't see how England's two tosses have assisted them more than Australia's, you're completely off the planet.

I agree Lords was insignificant, but how the hell was Edgebaston insignificant? It would have been critical, if you'd batted. It was your captain that stuffed up.

The test vs South Africa here was really bad, although this was mainly down to a small area where a MASSIVE crack opened up basically from day one and James Kirtley did well in hitting 5/6 balls. But its great news for England that they're gonna have the best of this pitch.

So more confirmation that the toss was critical
Yes, the toss was an important one to win. Now, please, can the incessant whining.

The point being made by Scaly is that Australia have won their share of tosses this series. Ponting made a screwy decision on one of these, and we paid dearly. That's hardly "everything going England's way" though. I don't count mistakes at the toss or being generally outplayed as "bad luck" either.

Obviously, the main problem here is that they have first use of it to bat on. If we were batting and motoring along at 100-odd for no loss, I doubt many Aussies would be complaining about the pitch suiting England.

Err yea, because Australia were on a real minefield on day 5 last Test weren't they?

Another bit of brilliant luck for England there...

My point is simple, Eng have enjoyed a dream run this series, everything possible has gone their way, they have won the tosses that have been vital, key injuries have assisted them and the rub of the green has been all with Eng.

This has been commented on by Hussien, Botham, Lloyd, Nichols and Atherton, numerous times.

Right, hence it wasn't critical, was it? I'm not suggesting it wasn't Ponting's fault, but to suggest that advantaged Australia as much as England's tosses is ridiculous, because it did the opposite.
