Code:
End of over 47 (12 runs) Australia 154/3 (269 more runs req)
AF Giles 15-2-51-0 - Brian Statham End
SM Katich 8* (13b 2x4) RT Ponting 63* (111b 6x4 1x6)

46.6 Giles to Ponting, no run, tossed up outside the off stump, defended
46.5 Giles to Ponting, FOUR, again short and again Ponting pulls it
through midwicket, another bad delivery put away in style
46.4 Giles to Ponting, FOUR, short ball, Ponting rocks back and pulls it
away through midwicket, as easy as it gets
46.3 Giles to Ponting, no run, tossed up outside the off stump, driven
        down to mid-off
46.2 Giles to Ponting, two runs
46.1 Giles to Ponting, no run, left alone outside the off stump
Gotta love that math.

EDIT: So what's the score? Did they get the over wrong or the overall score wrong on cricinfo?

What are the rules surrounding handling the ball? Cause in the Aussie innings one of the batsmen picked up the ball and gave it to a fielder, which, I thought, is technically out.

Nope its only out if the batsman isnt giving or aiding the fielder in picking the ball up. Otherwise if a batsam is hindering a feilder in his attempt to get at the ball then its out handling the ball.

Handling the ball is only out if you are using your hand to stop the ball hitting the stumps.

Pietersen looked at Vaughan when that happened, and I stood up...

You cannot handle the ball on purpose if it is live. If the umpire has called dead ball, you can pick it up.

Of course, the umpire doesn't actually call dead ball after every ball like they should in reality, so it's really up the umpire's judgement. If you deflect the ball away from the stumps (a-la Gooch 1993, Waugh 2001), so you don't get bowled, and the field appeals... you're out. If he ball is sitting still on the ground and you pick it up, even if the fielders appeal you won't be given out.

Anyway, like anything else, you can't be out unless there is an appeal.

They added 12 runs to the scoreboard in cricinfo but they say only ten runs were taken. I'm being misinformed during the Ashes! This is simply not good enough. I demand a refu- ...oh, right...

Giles bowling more garbage, he's repeating the last game, bowls well in the first innings and rubbish in the second innings.

For all those calling for Macgill to play... 29 wickets in the match so far, 7 from spinners, and of 9 second innings wickets, none to spinners.

Any english fans actually think england can win today?
You serious? With Martyn gone, England are very, very likely to win. There's still almost 60 overs to go. If Australia were to lose another wicket now, they would have a shot at an out of touch Gilchrist, an injured Clarke and the tail. These two really need to bat until tea.

edit: just as I say that...

anyone else think that ad is the biggest pile of crap out?
Can't top the Greg Matthews one where he does the soccer header and gets thrown by the hair in the martial arts class.

And Katich is out.... This was probably always going to come down to Gilly and the tail. Game not completely gone yet, but looking so much worse than half an hour ago.
