Hayden looks okay... the signs for me are his defensive stroke, and his trademark shots, being the straight drive and the pull. When Hayden gets it right he's amazingly impressive to watch, and has a real unbeatable air about him. He's got the defense right, but looks really tentative when trying to score, primarily because he's nervous and trying not to get out I assume, for both personal and team reasons.
I'm a huge Hayden fan, and even I'd admit it is more personal than team.

Well it's the same goal in this case. If Hayden bats all day and saves or wins the game, he'll both save his career and save the team.

Yeah, I guess, its all the same.

Hopefully this is the luck he needs. For the first time in a long time, its enjoyable watching Hayden bat again. What I mean by that, is when he's career started, you weren't sure how he'd perform, then for about 4 years, you knew he was going to go out and get a big score - not as enjoyable to watch.

Flintoff has it all over Hayden here, but at the same time these two have knocked off 12 overs now, so it's fine as long as he doesn't actually get out. :p

First hurdle, one wicket lost.

Vaughan's captaincy has been excellent throughout this series, but his negativity has cost Eng twice this morning already off Hayden.

Australia will be very happy with the score, we certainly need another wicket before lunch and I think we'll get one.

There's mild luck, there's winning the lottery and then there's Australia only being 1 wicket down.
but if you dont put men in catching positions, you cant complain if the ball goes through the gap.

With the field Eng had set when the first Hayden edge went through, you have to be unlucky to see it go to hand - 1.5 slip, 3 slip and 5 slip, that's too many gaps.

Australia should so go Warne up the order, especially if we have wickets in hand towards the end.

I want to see a 100!
