Not sure why people are whinging so much though. We are going at 3.9 an over and now we have an extremely solid platform for Freddie and KP to not have to worry.
Probably the fact that the wicket (barring the Rough) has few demons in it and in terms of batting ability the aussies are far better than the poms. If the aussies decide to 'turn up' in the fourth innings no team is safe.

In fact, this could be a key innings for the series if Bell hits his fluent straps.

Surprisingly average stuff from McGrath today. Bowled much better in the first innings for his worst ever figures in test cricket.

England hasnt any problems. They've got enough runs already IMO.

Hold on, Bell's hit a couple in the middle, he's obviously about to get out.

In terms of bowling ability with reverse swing especially England are far better than the convicts.

That really actually was a beauty of a cover drive from Bell. 72mph from McGrath tho. & again! Glenn not happy.
First one was an incredibly obvious slower ball, unlike the ones which Bell had difficulty against in the first innings. As Sean said, very average stuff from McGrath. Body language not good from the Australians either, though it must be difficult to remain positive in this situation.

Been a poor match for Gilly. Missed stumping, 2 drops and needed 3 lives to only score 30.
That was NOT a missed stumping. Bell edged it - it would have been a catch (Bell was credited with four runs to third man).

Australia really looking like a beaten side right now. England getting runs with ease and safety, and even McGrath looking unpenetrative. If Australia can get out of jail here and manage a draw, there's a fair break before the next test to regroup. Really have to keep your fingers crossed for that as an Australian fan, because winning the Ashes from 2-1 down with the high chance of a washed out test to come isn't going to be easy.

No denying that.............atm. You wait for the aussie press to burn the current team after this match. Personallly they deserve it, it has been an poor display by the australian batsmen, the captain(without the real captian Darren Lehman) has been poor at best. The bowling has been lacking and the fielding nowhere near good enough. To think this team thrased India in India not so long ago.

It probably doesn't matter too much, because the way the Australian batsmen have been playing, it's very possible that they'll fold inside two sessions for around 200 anyway... But I think the solid platform's been there for quite some time now, and in a context where the only commodity valuable to Australia is time, Bell seemed to be wasting a fair bit of it.

If it comes down to that, 2-all still deprives the Poms of the Ashes, Bwahaha... *cough*
