Had a hundred there for the taking but took every bait Aus gave him.

Missed hooks with two fielders back.

Skied one with EVERYONE out.

Yes, I agree, his batting was rubish.
Eh? What game were you watching - certainly wasn't this one.

444 - good innings on this pitch I fancy.

Bowden cannot possibly give anyone out lbw after the 2 he's knocked backed today.

Well Flintoff has probably cost England 50-100 runs with that 'shot', still think England have a good score - but it should have been a really imposing score.

Almost 450 which is what Virgil wanted. If catches had been taken we'd have gotten no where near that so I'm happy. Reverse swing may be the key to knocking the Aus over for below that score.

Yeah, right.

Couple of good shots, couple of slogs, soft dismissal - not really what England needed.

If you had have said "All Out 444" about 15 minutes before Lunch, you'd be mightily disappointed as an Englishman. They really should have made 500 as a minimum from where they were.

Little bit more overspin from Warne caught out Flintoff - one thing you don't see Warne bowling that much anymore, the toppie.

And for once Nicholas was on the money in his discussion with Boycott about Warne, and his googly. People (usually the casual observer) talk about it all the time, but he's never ever bowled it with any success - simply a result of being a round arm legspin bowler, which makes it harder to disguise. The best exponents of it have always been those with their arm closer to their ear at the point of release, Mushtaq Ahmed being the perfect case in point.

You can bet your life he will though.

As soon as the big, intimidating England fast bowlers hit a pad and the home crowd roars, they will cave in and give in to the force of Flintoffs big personality.

Nicholas if often on the money, especially when it comes to Warne.

He has by far the most knowledge about him, other than Benaud of course.

And yes, good post about the round arm aspect to googlys. Mustaq and Macgill have always had excellent ones.

Except there weren't any slogs til he got out, there was a sweep, some controlled bunts off Gillespie that was about it. Still if you want continue to sound like SW as you have been over the last few days - keep going.

Here`s hoping the English fielding is as bad as ours.

Vaughan won`t be anywhere near as bad with the field placings mind. Bell already in a good spot for Langer.

Australia NEED at least an opening partnership of 50. C`mon Haydos. Vaughan and Bell have scored. You`re up.

If we lose two or more wickets before we reach 100, well, i reckon its match over
I'm pretty sure England will win it. Aus will be all out for about 300 or something I expect.

Their pacemen are much more threatening than Australia's and they will bundle them out, as well as get a dodgy LBW or two.
