While I won't disagree Mark is a bit biased, what about that article specifically strikes you as biased? It's not hugely insightful or brilliantly written, but it's pretty much right in each of its claims as far as I can see.
I found his assessment of the English players particularly biased. He seemed much harsher on the Englishmen - e.g. he had Vaughans weakness as "Nicks a lot of balls, unsure where off-stump is, captaincy too bland.", and with Pietersen mentioning his "big ego" as a weakness. Even with Flintoff, he mentions lack of footwork as a weakness - I don't think Flintoff has especially poor footwork, certainly no worse than many other batsmen around.

Martyn has particularily poor footwork and that doesnt seem to be a problem for him. I think mark is clutching at straws there to be perfectly honest

Less footwork != poor footwork. His footwork is perfectly fine for the shots he plays. A player like Martyn, being balanced and in position is more important than getting right across in the orthodox sense. Mark Waugh was the same. It's not many players who have such good eyes that they can do that. He moves enough for his purposes. I think the fact that Martyn isn't caught behind a disproportionate number of times indicantes his footwork is just fine.

I am abosulutely loving this from Rogers, putting his name up to the Australian selectors, He has always been one of my favourite players

You wouldn't think any of the quicks were fighting for their spots would you? After tea and only 1 wicket down. If either McGrath or Wanre have an off day it could be danger time for Australia. Lee has shown that if he isn't striking he's going for runs, looks like Gillespie has been ok, but not threatening, and Kaspa hasn't helped his chances at all. Either all of those things or the pitch has suddenly become a belter.

Exactly. The beauty of Martyn's footwork is that it is minimul and allows him to play shots that others normally wouldn't.

very interesting day at Grace road, but i wont read too much into Leicester batting performace. I remember when Australia were in the West Indies in 2003, when some Carib Berr XI made 400 odd in the 4th innings with Baugh & Deonarine hitting big hundreds. But that didn't affect them at all during the test....
