Was there any need to play a fifth bowler when we have Symonds and Clarke who could have bowled the 10 overs between them? Cosgrove should have been in the team before Johnson.

he should stay opening, and should replace katich in ODI, also jacgues opening and gilly in the middle order, instead of Roy
You're joking right? Get rid of Australia's best ever ODI player! That's insane.

I can't believe Hopes isn't playing in this game. He & Cosgrove should have played.

yeah he is really inconsistant too much for my liking, 0(6) is not good enough for a middle order batsman named andrew symonds against bangladesh not good enough
You could be justified in saying that Symonds wasn't consistent in his short test career, but you cannot say that about his ODI career since the 2003 World Cup. His big centuries have usually come when early wickets have fallen. He is the most destructive middle order batsman in ODI cricket, the best fielder in the world and his bowling is more than adequate in ODIs.

I agree with you - and the stats support it...

Symonds has played 90 ODI's since the start of the last World Cup - scoring 2832 @ 45.67.

Wow.

Also taken 70 wickets at 39 odd. Not too bad.

Yep since 2004 Symonds has averaged 44 and scored 3 centuries and 12 fifties at a strike rate in the mid nineties.
It would be ridiculous to suggest to drop him.

If Bangladesh can get a couple of decent batsmen, they will really become a tricky ODI side at home.

I love it.
Yep it's good to see them on the improve. They have really performed against the Aussies and pushed them all the way during the series.

Roy is settling down, looks in control. Hopefully he can make a big score. Bangladesh are bowling very well however. They look inspired. Clarke however looks shaky and his inability to find the gaps is frustrating

It's disapointing Cosgrove didn't get a chance to play this innings. I would have much rather had him in the side then Katich. Would have been interesting to see how he would have handled the pressure.

Bangladesh again showing their promise here. They've learnt how to perform ... the next step is sustained performance.

I though the crap decisions would end with Hohns leaving
So did I. Surely by now they would realise that Katich isn't suited to opening. Cosgrove should have been given a go.

Indubiably.

God knows why jaques was ignored after his 94, where he was wrongly given out. And atleast give the donut man a chance against Bangladesh

The contrast between Symonds and Clarke is interesting, Symonds just seems to exude confidence and you really get the feeling he can take the side to a big score, where as Clarke doesn't seem to coping anywhere near aswell.

Is he still in Bangladesh? I would have thought he has come home

I think he might have. Im just saying, why the hell isnt he still there.

Preety crap wicket. Slow for bowlers and hard to score off.

I got that feeling as well. Clarke looks like he is always trying really hard to get a run, while Symonds just chips it into a gap
