Nothing compared to England's. Their tail is ridiculously long, ridiculously good and ridiculously annoying!
Would prefer a tail that puts the finishing touches at 5/250 rather than bailing the side out from 5/100 though

It hasn't been that good on paper for a while tbh. Hazlewood + Bird + Lyon are kind of deadweights.
Lyon's batting has gone from handy No 11 to outright bunny in last 15 months; averages around 6.5 since start of Sri Lanka series last year.

This has really annoyed me lately. At first he was a handy blocker, ~15 average tailender very similar to Jason Gillespie. Then he decided he wanted to be a slogger instead so started slogging a lot more and still made about the same but quicker. Now he's just useless at everything.

Yeah I would trade 22 bowling average Lyon for 22 batting average Lyon any day of the week.

I don't mind him still in Australian conditions. He's never been confident defending against spin IMO - hence he sweeps so often; and he's had three ordinary series in SL/Ind/Bang.

Very happy with the result here. Enjoyed Bangladesh's win and am looking forward to them continuing to improve. I think they have progressed to be a threat to everyone (except India) on the sub continent. And I consequently enjoyed Australia's win even more, because it stopped them losing the series and feeling the shame. And Lyon and Warner were so good. I'm so happy!

Now that the series is over, I really did expect BD to be able to win this 2-0. The first test was always going to be easier than the second, with Aus coming in raw and BD being all hyped up and ready to go. The real test was to see if they could come from the high of a win in the first test and maintain the same intensity and consistency against a more determined Australian side in the second. And they couldn't

Props to Australia for raising their game of course, it would have been of a shallow 2-0 win if they didn't bring their A Game in the second test as well. I wanted to see BD take on this Australia and beat them, and in many ways they really could have if they only gave themselves a chance. They picked a better team but went missing when it mattered and dropped catches and that collapse in the third innings was so soft and disappointing...sigh

It was a fun series but I do wish we saw BD with their A game against Australia with their A game. As it stands it feels like each team won a test when they showed up and the other didn't

Tamin 6.5 - one excellent Test where his innings were the difference, one poor one. Still that's enough for a passing mark in a two-Test series.
Sarkar 3 - made a start, but like Renshaw didn't do much else. I don't rate him from what I've seen.
Kayes 1 - simply not good enough. Needs to be opening again, and probably on his last chance as a Test cricketer.
Sabbir 5 - one 50, and not much else. That 24 was one of the worst 24's I've ever seen.
Shakib 8.5 - dominant first Test, average second one. Still probably Bangladesh's best player in the series though.
Mushfiqur 6 - batted well, kept poorly. Got better as the series went on.
Nasir Hossain 4.5 - made some contributions, but nothing really significant. Think he's best served in the role that he played at Chittagong.
Mehidy 6 - like a few Bangladeshis he was good at Dhaka but off the boil at Chittagong. Overall a mixed series and gets a mixed kind of score.
Taijul 5 - the third wheel and didn't do all that much of note. Wasn't that bad though.
Shafiul 3 - did nothing of note. Was useless in the conditions.
Mustafizur 7 - very good second Test, but was quiet in the first (the inverse of a lot of his team-mates). Terribad with the bat too.
Mominul 5 - looked composed without making a huge contribution in his one Test. Why he was initially dropped I don't understand.
Shafiul -1 - Totally useless and negative marking for dropping Cummins

I hope Bangladesh tour here soon. I really enjoyed this series, far more than I thought I would. CA has treated Bangladesh terribly over the years, particularly cancelling home series and not giving them a shot at a series here in so long.

Financially CA would lose money so thats their reluctance to host, cricket wise if the pitches are on the flatter side BD batsmen could score some runs and raise their profile overseas I think

Yeah i understand that, but I don't know if they'd lose anymore than they so hosting Pakistan or the WI tbh. There's a decent sized Deshi community in Aus, maybe not as large as the SL community, but it's pretty substantial. Otherwise they might have to do a Top End series in winter like they did years ago, but I really think that's taking the piss a bit.

In the past I can understand why Australia hasn't toured there if there's been security concerned - you rely on the advice from your government in that regard, but not hosting has been really ordinary. Australia is now ranked fifth in tests - fmd if they'd hosted Bangladesh they'd have a few more ranking points in the bank. I don't say that disrespectfully, but Bangers would be long odds to win a test here.

Touring Australia would help Bangladesh cricket develop as well. I agree with you Burgey, it's a shame we haven't hosted then very often. I'm sure regional centres would love a chance to see the Australian team play if we can't use our major cricket venues due to the AFL.

Bring them over and show them a bit of respect while we spank them silly on our home turf.

Anyway, series ratings:

Warner two tons is a very good result from him given I was willing to drop him after the first innings at Dhaka.
It seems like Warner is forever pushing the rock up the hill to convince people to trust his skill. From the time Hilditch tried to ruin his career and typecast him as a T20 specialist right through to the unbalanced emphasis on his sub con record to talk down his overall value. I remember when I first saw him thinking he could be like an opening version of Gilly and had more faith in the potential of his technique than say Phil Hughes.

Maybe his character gets people offside but even then he's shown himself to be an improver. He learns lessons, both in life and cricket. I've been hoping for a break out Warner effort on the sub con and happy its finally happened. He's conquered another challenge that appeared to have beaten him.

All up you could never consider dropping him from this team. He means to much to it. He and Smith and our only batting locks and you could only wonder what damage it would do to our chances if Warner was missing from the top of the order, which has scored most of our runs for a good while now.

So I'm sitting here pretty chuffed with his 2 tons. I back him to meet and beat every challenge presented to him until one day age will take away his gift. Cheers to Davey Warner.
